Alex Garant’s “Sweet Dreams” at Beinart Gallery.

Currently on view at Beinart Gallery in Victoria, Australia is artist Alex Garant’s solo exhibition, “Sweet Dreams.”

The works represent her wandering mind during the 2020 pandemic and attempt to showcase the up-and-down emotions taking over her imagination in the past few months. Waking up every morning in a haze, longing to remain in a transitional state of consciousness between wakefulness and sleep. Knowing that this new reality is hard to believe and confusing, living every day as a separate capsule. Every day as its own story. Every day as its sole moment.

They serve as a transitional phase from her familiar duplication of elements to almost abstract, more complex compositions.
