Gala Maui
It's Gala time!
Sorry, not sorry. I have very little shame.
Gala Moana
I drew her tattoo for the first time, but it's a bit off. First time.
Anywho, I gave her a hairstyle similar to her grandmother’s as a way to honor her.
The top and some parts of the outfit are from concept art or inspired by a concept design.
Gala Goliath
I love the way he came out.
Gala Elisa Maza
Forget Disney Princess, be a Disney detective! They get gargoyles!
Mainly cleaned up the image. Still having problems with the hair.
Prince Henri
I designed his hair based off of his doll version in the Limited Edition Fairy Tale series. Hard to tell since I went with dark brown hair. The first movie his hair is black, then merchandise and official art show him with variations of brown, so I figured dark brown was a good compromise.
Gala Cinderella
I love this color combo for her. And I prefer her original hair color. The flowers are supposed to be pumpkin blossoms.
I'm done with villains. I don't want to draw every one of them, so now it's heroines and heroes.
Gala Alameda Slim
Ah, Alameda Slim. What can I say? He amuses me. Though I think his nephews are funnier.
I thought this would be a nice formal outfit for him. Of course, he has his guitar.
Gala Percival C. McLeah
This is about as fancy as I felt he'd get. He looked weird without his hat. I gave him snake shoes and a matching belt. I was thinking about a full snake skin suit, but no. I was frustrated with the belt and shoes already. This will do.
I have no idea who or if I'd pair him up with someone. Maybe Madame Medusa? I dunno.
Gala Nalo
Sorry. Forgot to post him after Grundel Toad. I added some simple patterns for his outfit. My original I updated on dA was plain. Storm clouds outlined in light gray cause I have no idea. And the images on his skirt? Lava-lava? Anyways, they're wind swirls. There was a reason for the shark tooth, but I forgot.
Gala Grundel Toad
There wasn't any specific era to work with, so I just faked it for his look. I don't have much to put here. He was kinda a spur-of-the-moment decision. I didn't exactly have a plan, but since I added Rasputin from Anastasia, who is also now owned by Disney, I decided, why not?
Gala Grigori Rasputin
Ugh! I wanted to dress him up in appropriate 1930s-era clothes. It came out crappy.
Unfortunately, the only thing that looks good is his head and beard. XD
Gala Davy Jones
A tailored outfit for him. Used the animated version from Disney Heroes.
I was trying to figure out a logical explanation on how he would actually attend a gala on land. Then I got to thinking of his curse. He can't step on dry land, but standing in buckets is a loophole used jn the movie. But it wouldn't look cool. So what about snow and ice? They're water, not dry land, they're a layer above dry land. He can stand in buckets of water on dry land.
So then doesn't that mean someone like Elsa could freeze water for him to walk and stand on? Or someone like Moana have some of the ocean on land and keep him floating off the ground?
My answer is yes. Which is why he has sheets of ice under his feet in my drawing. I don't normally deal with that sort of thing since it's just art, but I couldn't resist this time.
King Candy
His theme is cherry! I even added some cherry blossoms for the look. And that's Sakura pink not salmon! Sorry King Candy. XD
Fancy gala outfit! I had too much fun with this. I was planning on doing his true form as Turbo, but couldn't come up with something I liked. So just this version.
Prof. Padraic Ratigan
Gala look for the greatest criminal mind! In the book(s) his first name is Padraic, in case you're curious.
Gala Elvira
She's the deleted maid of Madame Adelaide Bonfamille. Don't know why exactly, but I wanted to draw her up for my gala series and add her in, instead of pairing Edgar up with a non-deleted character.
Anyway, I used a few different concepts for her design. Though, since the blonde concept was Disney's most common, I went with that. I chose an Edwardian dress and hairstyle. Though I'm not doing historically accurate, I do try to keep characters in the style of their era, while at times taking liberties like Disney does.
She would have assisted Edgar in his scheme to get rid of the cats. They were to have sung a deleted song entitled "How Much You Mean to Me/Court Me Slowly" in which the butler would have attempted to propose to her so that he could have access to her share of Madame's fortune and she would have instructed Edgar how to court her like in her book.
Gala Edgar Bathazar
The butler of Madame Adelaide Bonfamille, dressed up for his gala debut. Not much more to say here. Sorry.
Gala Dawn Bellwether
I was having problems figuring out what to dress her in, since her outfits weren't flashy. So I wasn't too sure what would work. Looked up some nice dresses and chose something I felt would work. Keep in mind, this is for my 'Gala Series', so it's got to be elegant.
