Fernweh || Ulrich Body REACTION
Ulrichâs eyes were cold as they surrounded the stairs. He knew that there was a person dead before him. He knew that she was gone, her functions have ceased. But⊠Ulrich couldnât bring himself to do anything, say anything. Everyone was already trying to figure out what was happening, but he stood there in cold silence, his look unreadable. Maybe it was because he knew something like this would happen. Maybe he has seen something like this before? Either way, when Ulrich heard about the other body downstairs, he had to move.Â
Ulrichâs body felt heavier and heavier with every step. Who would also be dead? Who would be here alone? With every blink, Ulrich saw Sayuriâs face. Her terror, despair in her eyes. He saw that look before, why couldnât he do anything to stop it? His heart began to tremble as he made his way to the laundry. Why was his chest hurting? He clung to his jacket as they all witnessed Shigemiâs corpse in the machine. That was the moment it all seemed to fall apart. He was dead⊠He was irreparably damaged⊠exactly like Sayuri. Both of them were dead?Â
Ulrichâs breathing became heavier and heavier as he began to sway. People were already crying, people were already breaking apart. Ulrich couldnât think about anything but their faces. Those eyesâŠ. Controlâs words faded into the background as the world began to swirl around him into an endless smear of color and sound. Nothing but Shigemiâs face. Nothing but his body and Ulrich. Was there something he couldâve done? Was there something anyone could have done? His legs gave out, his eyes staring at the corpse as the others already began, but Ulrich could not. He felt so.. unreal. None of this felt real. Who was he, beyond his flesh? What was he even doing there, wasting space when there were others who deserved to be there tooâŠ.
He leaned over, curled up face down against the tiled floor. With this, Ulrichâs phone fell out of his pocket, and he opened it to the texting system. What were they talking about? What could any of them possibly be going on about..? All the fighting, all the threats. Oh no⊠Sayuriâs dead, right. Shigemiâs dead, right. He wanted this all to stop⊠Stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stopâŠ.
Everyone stop. Please, just stop.Â
Ulrich Ohlhauser stands up once more, his eyes focusing on everything but the corpse. Turning around to the few left in the laundry room, his deep voice growls, his body rigid and sturdy, as if nothing happened. Ulrich Ohlhauser was fine! He had to be fine!
âFor many of us, this is not the first time witnessing the body of another. Remember that once they have left us, their bodies are simply husks of their former humanityâŠ.â Pause, âEven SayuriâŠâ He exhales and continues. âLet us give all we have to this investigation. Those two deserve at the least that! Lest you call yourselves cowards and hide away in your rooms until you meet the same fate!"Â
