You're just a mammal. Let yourself act like it. Your brain needs enrichment. Your body needs rest. You feel hunger and grow hair. You need to pack bond with other sentient things so you don't become unsocialized and neurotic. You are biologically inclined to seek dopamine and become sick when chronically stressed. "Hedonism" is made up to place moral value on taking pleasure in sensory experiences. I am telling you that if you don't let yourself be a fucking mammal, as you were made, you will suffer and go insane. No grindset no diets no trying to be above your drive for connection. Pursue what makes you feel good and practice radial rejection of the constructs meant to turn you into a machine. You're a mammal.

Crack theory of the day:

Airbending is banned from pro bending because of the one time Tenzin substituted in on Lin's team when they were younger.

The opposing team had no idea how to handle him or his airbending, and no one could even land a single hit on him.

The judges knew they'd have to rewrite the entire rule book if he kept playing, so they just banned the element outright stating it was unfair as there were no other airbenders in the league to compete with him.

Tenzin was so angry about memorizing all the rules just to get banned forever, and that is why he calls pro bending "drivel" in canon. He is still salty about getting kicked out.

First up are Tenzin and Pema, of course.

Tenzin is the last-born son of the Southern Tribe's most respected family. If the tribe had tolerance for royalty or kings and queens, he would be considered a prince. He likes the attention his birthright has garnered him and he loves his tribe, but only to a certain point. His true heart lies with the strange and foreign teachings of his father, who claims to have come from a once thriving, now long-gone culture. Tenzin's spirit never felt so free as it did while hearing fanciful stories about castles in the sky.

Pema is from a village in the Southern Earth Kingdom. She is quick-witted and bright, but opportunity always seems to pass her by. When she is not performing back-breaking work on her family farm, she is making sure the children in the village know how to read and write. Through a contract of cultural exchange, she set up a pen pal system with a certain Southern Water Tribe so the children could see that they are more similar to children thousands of miles away than they are to the Queen's tax collectors who come to bleed their village dry twice a year. One day, a prince—who very much claimed to not be a prince—came to the village and stole Pema's heart. She knew they were meant for each other from the moment they met, and she swore to herself she would not let this opportunity pass her by.

Lin Beifong

Lin Beifong. Knight. Also from the Southern Earth Kingdom. As a young girl she was sold by her grandparents to serve as an indentured servant to Queen Hou-Ting. Poppy and Lao Beifong thought there was something innately wrong with her, much like they thought there was something wrong with their daughter, Lin's mother, Toph, so they decided to get rid of her in a business transaction. Through brute force many years later, Lin escaped her servitude and wandered the Earth Kingdom looking for anyone who was worthy of her time. A kindly man who knew the way of the sword took her in and taught her to fend for herself. When Lin was established in her own right, she tried to reconnect with her mother, but discovered that task was about as easy as catching a ghost. She decided to move south to find her mother's friends to see if they had any insight about where Toph was, and reconnected with her childhood friend, Tenzin. Tenzin's inability to see danger and desire to see the good in everyone worried her, and she decided to stay by his side to protect him so long as she could continue the search for her mother.
