I wanted to draw my version of Skull Man and put actual effort into my colouring this time. Still none for the background, though. YOU CAN PULL MY LAZY SCRIBBLING OUT OF MY COLD, DEAD HANDS
My version of him is a very shy baby. I also forgot to shade around his eyes to make them sunken in but oh well I always forget details :â)

â (( ... also throw in one for Charge as well :'3 ))
Bomb Man
Skull Man
⌠And another Skull Man.
Charge Man
[ snake in the grass ]
snake man.
âYou say that as if thereâs a correlation between the two.â He hissed. He wouldnât deny that his morality was desperately lacking, but he didnât see what that had to do with realizing true potential or that you were being used.
In fact, heâd dare say that would make him better at identifying it.
Snake was ready to move right away, and thankfully, he was a quick Robot Masterâ Not as fast as the likes of Elec, but fast enough to dodge a shield.
Unfortunately, that wasnât enough to save him from the bullets being fired off at him. A few of them hit before he managed to jump back a decent distance. He had to get closer in order to make his Search Snakes effectiveâ They didnât have many places to hide, so Skull would find it easy to pick them off if they were too far away.
Skullâs grin was met with a snarl. âI have no intention of letting you defeat me! One of us is going to fall today, and it wonât be me.â
Then again, Snake could always destroy his processor if it came to it. It was certainly better than letting anyone get their hands on it.
The DWN kept on the move, carefully moving closer to Skull. Once he deemed himself close enough, he began firing off Search Snakes as quickly as possible. Any that could make it through the rain of bullets would latch onto Skull and try to tear him apart.
Calculations ran through Skull Man's processor now-- he shot down as many Search Snakes as he could, but one or two latched onto his boots. He growled but kept his mind to Snake himself-- and working out how long he would have to hold the grenade after pulling the pin before throwing it, so that Snake would not get the chance to evade the explosion. One of the snakes was making their way up. It would have to be now-- Skull pulled the pin, counted down in his processor, and threw the grenade. It would explode in the air, right in front of Snake's face. Skull charged and activated his shield next, so to knock the snakes off of himself. They left their marks on his armour, certainly. The DCN seemed hardly fazed by the damage. A particular gash in his leg was sparking, but he simply marched on forward, minigun pointed at Snake's form in the smoke. If the DWN so much as twitched, bullets would start flying again. "One of us fell, indeed," Skull Man scoffed, smug and dark. "You were wrong otherwise." The minigun whirred as it prepared its ammo. "Good-bye, Snake Man. No one will miss you."
[ snake in the grass ]
âFreedom to live freely, you idiot!â Snake hissed in response. âDo I have to spell it out for you? Are you that blinded by your masters?â He narrowed his eyes. âYou will leave them, one way or another. Perhaps not today, but they will be your family no more.â
He was ready to snap back at Skull, but the pressure from his shield cause the DWN to wince as he was pressed against the ground. He sat up as Skull jumped away from him, taking a split second to recover before he stood up. While he may not have been able to shoot through Skullâs shield, he was certain he could find a way to make him drop it, one way or another.
âMy I.C. Chip will sooner be destroyed before you gain access to Master Wilyâs location through my memory.â He was perfectly willing to die for Dr. Wily if it meant not revealing his location, and if it meant protecting every DWN and his father.
Snake changed his stance to a defensive one, switching his other hand into a buster as he awaited Skullâs first move.
"To hell with speaking with you any further," Skull snarled. "'Blindness', accuses the sociopathic, stalking low-life! I will end you here, накипŃ!"
Skull raised his arms and ejected the empty bullet cartridges from his arms, automatically replacing them with new ones. And luckily for Snake, he wouldn't have to worry about Skull hiding in his shield for much longer. Instead, he would have to worry about it being launched at him. If he managed to dodge it, he then had Skull's mini-gun firing rapidly at him.
He pulled down his scarf and removed his faceplate momentarily, just to shoot Snake a conspiring grin. "Who said anything about keeping your IC chip intact? If you die, it will be a victory for the Cossack family. The rest of your processor, on the other hand, has a thousand links back to your Master's location. You'll meet him again in Hell!"
He put his faceplate back on and pulled a grenade from his belt. A peripheral weapon or twenty was always good to have... And if he could get Snake to stop moving, decapitating him would be that much easier.
[ snake in the grass ]
Snake could have argued that having his arm shot at repeatedly was reason enough to get angry.
âWhat do you know about Master Wily?! You barely spent any time under his ruling! More importantly, youâre already a slave to humanity! You would have more freedom under him!â
He snarled as he was punched, but didnât react much aside from that. He was used to pain.
Without the use of one of his arms, Snake had to think of other means to fight back. He wrapped the tail on his helmet around Skullâs throat, attempting to tug him off while using his non-damaged arm to shove at his side. If he could get the upper hand, he may be able to deal with the DCN while only having one arm to use.
"Freedom? Freedom to do what?! If you consider mine a life of servitude, then I'm happy being man's slave! I will never leave my Fa-- Master's side, nor Kalinka's!"
Skull had yet to understand his place as one of Mikhail's sons, despite having been with the family for a few years already. However, even if that were to be brought up, that was none of Snake's concern.
"If 'freedom' is for forcing one's way and tormenting the helpless and innocent, as you love to do, then I prefer my chains! I am not as pathetic as you!"
He likely would have ranted further, but was silenced by Snake's tail constricting his throat. Skull let out a low, rattling hiss. He was not letting some miserable little pet get the upper hand! He unleashed his Skull Barrier, creating a forcefield whose radius briefly crushed Snake to the ground as it launched Skull back and away from him. Landing a few feet away, holographic skulls circled the DCN whilst snapping at the open air.
"You made a mistake, coming to me," Skull snarled. "I will gift the Russian Armed Forces with your head- and from your processor we will tear your Master's location from your memory and rid this world of him for good!"
[ snake in the grass ]
reptileintheshadows:
Well, that was rude.
Snake raised his arms in front of himself to try and block the shots to his face, seeing as how dodging wasnât an option. The next thing he knew he was being tackled to the ground. His calm demeanor changed as he snarled and bared his sharp teeth.
He wasted no time in attempting to struggle away, while at the same time trying to change his hand into a busterâŚOnly to have Vladmir shoot directly into his arm, causing him to let out a shout of pain as he grit his teeth together.
âYou FOOL!â He spat, reaching his free hand up to grab Vladmirâs arm and try to force it down so he would have less of a chance at being shot at. âIâm offering you a chance to reach your full potential!â
The DWN was getting error messages in regards to his arm being blown apart, but he ignored them. He was trying to get out from under Vladmir, hopefully to pin him down and deactivate his weapon.
Well, it looked like this snake-in-the-grass decided to show who he really was, how he really was. It was as disgusting as expected. Snake Man was no charmer, and it didnât take a genius to see it. It just took a violently homicidal DCN to get rid of it.
âŃ ŃопНŃŃ ! You know damn well that your master is a soulless madman!â he snarled. âA chance to reach my full potential?! Iâd have better use as a supermarket bag boy than one of your masterâs slaves!!â
The bias was real. A more sensible person could have easily pointed out Wilyâs tendencies to neglect earlier creations in favour of newer, less-debugged ones; the fact that many, if not majority, of his own sons had long abandoned their fatherâs ambitions in favour of their own desires; or even the simple fact that Snake himself was one of the creations that rarely got any use anymore yet was trying to convince others that they would be more useful in Wilyâs army.
Needless to say, though, coherency beyond the word âDIEâ and all variations of the sentiment wasnât available to Skull Man at the moment. His other hand made a fist and smacked Snake in the nose, while Skull Manâs buster stopped shooting and prepared a Skull Barrier in case Snake started getting the upper hand in fisticuffs.
[ snake in the grass ]
âOh, thereâs plenty for us to talk about.â Snake said, his tone suggesting that he was at ease. âI have business with you. Thereâs no reason to get violent.â
The tail on his helmet swayed back and forth slightly. âI want you to return to Master Wily. As far as Iâm concerned, youâre a DWNâ were it not for his plans, you would have never been created. Youâre excellent at combat, and Iâm certain that your skills could be put to much better use under Wilyâs command as opposed to anyone elseâs.â He placed one hand on his hip, extending his other hand out toward Vladmir.
âWhat do you say? Will you join Master Wily?â
The moment Snake was done talking, Vladmir lunged at Snake, aimed his buster and opened fire. âĐакŃĐžĚĐš ŃвОК ŃĐžŃ, ŃŃĚка!!â
After unleashing a flurry of bullets in the general direction of Snake Manâs face, Vladmir activated his mask and helmet, changing fully into his armoured mode as he tackled the DWN to the ground. Skull Manâs next target was to disable Snake Manâs weapon, to avoid the irritation of having to pick off his worthless little Search Snakes. And what better way to do that than to fire directly into Snake Manâs arm to try and make it easy to tear it off?
[ snake in the grass ]
It was a rather large risk that Snake was taking. He was aware of the fact that Vladmir was overly violent and hated DWNs, and his treatment of one of his siblings may have made that worse.
He remained calm, however, even as he was threatened. He looked relaxed, even, a small grin on his face as he kept his hands in plain sight, dropping them to his sides.
âItâs good to see you too.â He said. âHowever, I assure you that I didnât come here with poor intentionsâ I came here to talk.â To prove that, he didnât switch his hand into a buster, and he left himself open for attack, despite knowing that the DCN could easily open fire on him.
âThere is nothing we can possibly talk about,â Vladmir replied coldly. âYou have no business with me- unless you want to discuss how many seconds you have left before I blow your head off for tormenting Toad Man. In which case, you have three. Should I count them down for you?â
That grin was not helping Vladmirâs sour mood. Snake wasnât even giving him the validation that his threats were doing much more than carry conversation- conversation which he did not want to partake in. He prepared the turrets in his buster, so that the moment those three seconds were up, he could start making his point a bit more clear for the serpent in front of him.
[ snake in the grass ]
Since Vladmirâs creation, Snakeman had been very interested in him. As far as Snake was concerned, the robot was one of Wilyâs. He was made during one of Wilyâs schemes, and were it not for the events that transpired back then Snake doubted that Vladmir would have ever been created.
Really, he should have thanked Wily.
The DWN didnât find it very odd that Vladmir eventually began to lead him somewhere more secluded. It made sense, but Snake didnât feel that he had to be all that concerned about the new location. As such he followed him, being sure to stay quiet and use the surroundings to his advantage.
âĐŃĐž ŃаП?â He asked. (Whoâs there?)
Snake switched his language settings for a moment so he would be able to understand what Skull had said. Once he did, he grinned, carefully stepping out from where he was hiding, putting his hands in plain sight to show that he was unarmed.
âDWN-022, Snakeman.â He replied.
The DCN turned to face Snake Man when he emerged. As he suspected- a DWN, the most wretched mongrels to ever walk the earth. Oh, some of them were fine, he supposed- but he hadnât met any yet, and from what little he knew of Snake, this one definitely wasnât one of those passable few. After all, Snakeâs constant harassment of Vladmirâs older brother Dimitri was not something kept secret, and if he were in his right mind his best decision at the moment would be to murder Snake then and there.
But that would be rude, wouldnât it.
Since Snake decided to speak in English, Skull switched to his English settings. His thick Russian accent made his angry tone come across that much harsher; âLeave now,â he said. âyou parasite. Youâve been bothersome enough towards the Cossack family as-is. Choosing to seek me out is an even more deadly mistake. If you value your life, you will return to whatever rat-infested pit in hell you crawled out of.â
That was as accommodating as Vladmir was willing to be. With his hands still behind his back, he switched one of them into a buster. He doubted Snake would leave, after all; and maybe the warning alone was much more courtesy than such a disgusting waste of materials even deserved.
[ snake in the grass ]
Vladmir didnât take well to being sneaked up on.
Not because he was easy to startle- well, not just because of that, anyway. Although off-duty, he always had a very itchy trigger finger when he was alone and suspicious; and a smarter robot wouldâve simply made themselves known if they didnât want the dangerous end of his buster in their faces.
So once Vladmir felt as if he were being watched, he made a beeline for a place where he and any potential stalker would be alone. For anyone else, this would be a stupid move. But for Skull, he was simply directing danger away from any unnecessary casualties; and he set his English language settings on standby.
He kept his hands behind his back for the moment. However, his armour up to his neck activated, just in case. âĐŃĐž ŃаП?â He asked. (Whoâs there?)
⼠|| Mother and Son ;
Perhaps it was because her little girl was all grown up (sob!) and on a plane probably now halfway to America for university (double sob!), but Isabelle Cossack really needed to baby someone right now. The plane had departed almost four hours ago, and yet it felt like Kalinka was still here in her room doing last minute packingâŚÂ
Sheâd been getting misty eyed every time she caught herself about to call for her daughter â her grown up, university age, about to follow in her fatherâs footstepâs baby girl! â and stopped in the nick of time. Sheâd cried at the airport, that was enough! Isabelle Cossack was strong, and she would get through this, and call Kalinka as soon as she was settled, and before she knew it the girl would be home for Christmas, or the rest of the family would be in the states during reading weekâŚ
Yes.
âŚGoodness, she needed to distract herself. But who to lavish attention uponâŚ?
Soon enough Isabelle found herself standing before a door with a skull on it, hesitating for a moment before knocking gently. She then opened the door, peeking in to find Vladimir thereâ Just as sheâd hoped.Â
âHello, darling,â She said, remaining in the doorway, âAre you busy?â
Same, Mrs. Cossack.
Upon meeting Vladmir Cossack, DCN-032: Skull Man for the first time, one would assume him to be a cold, stone-faced soldier with maybe a slight soft spot. One would probably not expect him to react to his baby sister going to university by sobbing pathetically in his room once they returned from the airport, rocking back and forth with his pillow in his arms.
Heck, even at the airport Vladmir had been having an awful time trying to stay calm. Maybe it was just the profoundly powerful big brother programming Mikhail had given him, but Kalinkaâs existence tended to turn the scary, violent combat robot into a big baby.
Once he heard his mother- the one other person whose programming caused him to regard as one of the most important things in the universe- at his door, however, he startled and looked up; luckily for him that he hadnât any face paint on beforehand, as it wouldâve started running quite quickly with his distress. He hastily pushed away the pillow and scrambled off his bed to stand up and make himself vaguely presentable, embarrassed that sheâd seen him in a sorry state.
âEr-- um. I-Iâm not busy,â Vladmir stammered. âWa-was there something you needed...?â
Sibling time
Kalinka thought for a moment. Taking him to a place that had a lot of people was probably not a good idea. She wanted him to feel like part of the family not socially awkward.
âWell we could rent a movie and have popcorn.â That was good right. Heâd be spending time with her and they wouldnât even have to leave the house. That would probably even help with him feeling welcome around them. âWe could even make some sâmores in the microwave if you want.â
The attempts are appreciated, Kalinka. Of course, around the Cossacks Skull was chronically nervous, unless the situation dictated he should be otherwise. Say, when he wanted to defend them or there was something professional happening. Otherwise, it was like theyâd adopted a tiny bunny instead of a large, dangerous combat robot.
âCertainly,â he said. She mightâve been insisting on his choice, but he tended to gravitate towards whatever she had suggested; he would be a wreck otherwise. He properly exited his room and shut the door behind himself, lifting the hair from his eyes. Ugh- normally he didnât care, but he mustâve looked like a mess...!
Sibling time
âHi Vlady.â Kalinka smiled knowing she was the only one allowed to call him that and not be riddled with bullets. âI finished packing and wanted to spend some time with you before I left.â
She new she could have asked any of her brothers to spend some time with her, any of them would drop what they were doing to see her before she left, but Vlad had always been the most distant of her siblings. Even after 8 years he still didnât see himself as a welcome part of the family. Well Kalinka was going to do the best she could to change that before she had to leave.
Vladmir was more than happy to spend time with the princess before she left! He tried not to look too excited- itâd been several years, now, and for heavenâs sake the girl was eighteen and Vladmir whatâs even wrong with you canât you act casual around your own precious baby sister- but it was hard to hide the fact that he wanted to do that in the first place. He just... still had an awkwardness that prevented him from interacting with others. A lot.
âOf course,â he said. The least he could try to do was keep the stammering down- although he knew Kalinka was used to it. âAnything youâd like to do.â
Sibling time
Kalinka was done with her packing and had gotten everything else ready for her trip. The problem now was she didnât have much to do until her flight which wasnât for a few days. Maybe there was something to be said for last minute packers at lest they werenât board and fidgety when they were ready. Well she knew on thing she could do while she waited. Exiting her room she walked down the hall passing 7 other doors until she got to the one she was looking for. Smiling she knocked on the door that had the picture of a skull on it and waited.
Live with somebody long enough and you could recognize the way they knocked. Vladmir answered the door fairly quickly; the least social of the DCNs was just as dedicated to their dearest sister as the rest, and anything she needed took priority over all else- especially since soon sheâd be on her own.
That made Vladmir nervous; but he had to be a strong older brother and believe that his baby sister-- ohheavenshelphimshewasalready18whatnohowdidsheagesofast-- could take care of herself. She was a big girl now...!
âH-hello, Kalinka.â he said. He was still in-uniform, which wasnât unlike him. He almost insisted on being ready for duty as many hours of the day as possible. âWhat can I do for you?â
