If I had a nickel for every time a Universal Studios park outside of the US made a creepy cute Halloween mascot I instantly became attached to, I'd have two* nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice
(*Not counting the variants of Hamikuma; I'm lumping all three of them under the same umbrella)
So I heard that Universal Studios Beijing has their own Halloween event called Scares @ Universal, and although the main icons this year are Jack and Chance from the US parks, there's another character who seems to be very popular with guests: Emo Tu! (Or is it Emotu? I'm not entirely sure...)
Emo Tu is a creepy rabbit from one of the haunted mazes, Freaky Farm. From what I've seen of them in video footage they just kinda sit at a table at the end of the maze and fiddle with a little bucket while looking vaguely spooky, but oh boy do they put a lot of personality into it. They seem to have won over a lot of visitors of the park, so much so that not only have they gotten merch made of them, but they'll even perform and take photos with guests apart from the maze.
I'm personally living for this era of grotesque-but-cute Halloween mascot critters, they're a lot of fun UwU
