I want to say something in reference to this dude because I've already been called a 'white supremacist' today on facebook due to this dipshit.

This guy? Was in the capital today as I'm sure the majority of you know. And I want to talk about something beyond just the scope of things that happened. Theres plenty to talk about in regards to how shit these people are, how blm protesters would be killed for what these people did, etc. But that's for another post.. I want to talk about how this guy is perpetuating the stereotype that the norse pagans are nazis.

This man has tattoos (you can google more pics but can see in the second) of what looks like runes, yggdrasil, thor's hammer (I believe), and what many think is a 'viking' hat. Historically vikings never wore horned helmets but that's besides the point. These tattoos, the things he perpetuates? Is a disgusting fraud and quite frankly he has not earned those sacred symbols on his body.

To some of you, this may not seem like a big deal. But to pagans, it is. We already have to deal with a lot due to our beliefs. This dude just adds to the fire.

I've already seen people talk about norse paganism stating that only nazis are pagans.... and I want to state that this man DOES NOT represent the norse pantheon. I bet you ANYTHING he is probably some odinist or other offshoot 'pagan' who doesnt really practice norse paganism, only uses it to promote nazi agendas. They use Odin, thor as their 'gods' when in reality they know nothing of them. They steal our symbols, runes, blessed magick and turn it into a hateful thing.

Norse deities are not kind towards racists, white supremacists and nazis. Quite frankly they are tired of our symbols, magickal runes, and so forth being used in hateful ways. They are tired of all that comes with odinists, and other 'norse' nazis.

So please PLEASE do not use this man as a reflection of what my community represents. He is a fake, a fraud, a disgusting stereotype of my community.

And while I agree that it is worth discussing if someone in my community is being racist, the community as a whole does not stand behind that.

Anyone is welcome to be a norse pagan. You just have to have to right intent, dedication, and respect. You do not have to be anything but that. There is no true rule book beyond respect and intent.

DIY Seashell Spoons

This is perfect for all the sea witches out there but really just anyone who wants something special for herbs and salts. It’s not really made to eat with! 

What You’ll Need:

Sea shells (I got mine from Dollar Tree)

Copper Wire (I got mine from the jewelry aisle in Walmart)

A drill to make a hole in the sea shells

Something to help cut the wire

First things first, I got a drill to make a hole in the sea shells. The hole would be near the bottom of the shell, right in the middle. I didn’t plan out my copper wire handle but you could braid the wires or just wrap wildly. I added a bead to one and you can add decorations like that if you’d like. I also used twine, a Himalayan pink salt rock, and smaller sea shells. I drew with a gold paint pen inside the shells. Keep wrapping and working the wires until it’s a steady handle to support the shell.

The "I'm Tired, I'm Dying" Spell

This is a spell to do when you’re tired and you feel shit out of luck and you have more than a million things to accomplish. 

Things you need: 

Black Tea

Cinnamon (stick cinnamon is best)

Lemon and/or Ginger 

Brew your tea and add your ginger and/or lemon. The ginger is greatly used for success and power, and mundanely can be used to ease aches such as an icky stomach or headache. Lemon enhances physical energy and is great when you’re experiencing mental fatigue (just a couple drops will do). Mix well with a cinnamon stick. If you don’t have a cinnamon stick handy just add a bit of powdered cinnamon and swirl clockwise while saying: 

“I’m tired, I’m dying,

but I’m still trying. 

Lift my head,

I’m not dead.”

Say this while mixing until you feel that it is done. Drink the tea and take some time to chill before you go crazy.

Old Mother Redcap's "Courage in a Bag" Spell

This spell is designed for those who need a little extra boost of strength and courage. The most important part of this spell is realising your own strength. As in the Wizard of Oz, The Cowardly Lion had the courage all along! Items needed: - Charm bag of bright colour of your choosing (I suggest fiery red) - Piece of aquamarine - Piece of amethyst  - Piece of black onyx - Tablespoon dried rosemary - Tablespoon dried yarrow - Pen and paper/parchment - Fire proof dish - Red candle (or any colour of your choosing Method: Place yourself in front of a mirror. Take the aquamarine in your hand. Close you eyes visualise yourself succeeding at your goal. Now look at yourself in the mirror and repeat: “I am courageous” “I am confident” “I am strong” “I will succeed” Place the aquamarine in the charm bag and repeat the mirror exercise for each crystal. Now fill the bag up with the dried herbs and light your candle.  Take you pen and paper and write down what your most afraid of. Fold it up whilst visualising yourself having the courage to go after it. Burn the paper in the candles flame while repeating: “I am courageous” “I am confident” “I am strong” “I will succeed” Once the paper has burned and is cool, place the ashes in the charm bag. Seal it up and take this bag with you whenever you feel the need for a boost of strength or courage. Repeat those words often.

Bad Penny

Here’s a fun little jinx I used to cast a lot.

You Need:

~ A penny

Hold the penny in your left hand. Get angry. Whatever makes you angry, think of it now. Make a fist around the penny and hold it up to your mouth. When you’re good and angry, start swearing at the penny, calling it nasty names, telling it ugly things. Go on as long as you like. (This is a great way to vent!)

When you’re done, say, “Pass it on.”

Drop the penny in the house of someone who’s annoyed you, use it to pay at a business that’s done you wrong, give it to someone you want to inconvenience, sow discord in the world for the lulz, go nuts. I used to charge ‘em by the handful and scatter them downtown when I was partially homeless and hated everyone and everything.

Notes:

As some of you may have realized, you can use this as a way to cleanse! If you don’t want to weaponize the penny, say “Hold that for me” when you’re done charging, and dispose of it safely or cleanse the penny.

Do not keep the penny. Just do not. I once cursed a penny, dropped it so it landed in my shoe by accident, and had a stunningly shitty day. It takes ten seconds to cast if you have a penny and you’re already angry. Storing them up just means they go to work on you. So if you want to carry ammo, just keep uncharged pennies on you and charge them as needed.

Stormbornwitch’s Prosperity Spell Bottle

This spell bottle contains my prosperity powder. This powder is ideal for drawing money, prosperity, and success. Just on its own, the powder could be sprinkled onto a burning candle, dusted around your home or workplace or you could even add some to a hot bath!

Prosperity Powder - Grind & Combine:

Eggshells for protection, prosperity and good fortune

Sage for helping you make wise decisions

Bay Leaves for prosperity and success

Basil for wealth and success

Peppermint for money, prosperity and abundance

Then the powder is poured into a jar or bottle. Attached to the jar/bottle is a bay leaf with the rune Fehu (wealth and prosperity) painted on it in silver paint.

Using knot magic, the bay leaf is attached to the jar/bottle and then a candle is affixed to the top of the jar so that the candle can be lit every time I need a little money to flow into my life. This little spell bottle works really well. I’ve even been asked to make one for my boss at work.

Tell Me Something I Don’t Know: A Tarot Spread for New Insight

Beyond its usefulness as a divination tool, tarot can also be a good way to organize your thoughts and better understand yourself—your subconscious interprets the meaning of the cards according to what you think and feel, and the symbols on the cards give you a way to visualize these thoughts and feelings more objectively, outside of your mind. If I ask the cards a question about myself, a lot of the time they respond by knocking me upside the head and telling me I already know the answer.

Sometimes, though, I’m not looking to the cards for answers about what I feel or for what’s buried in my subconscious. I want new information, knowledge that I can use to improve my life and move forward. For that, I’ve devised this spread, a simple way to learn something new from the cards.

1.      Describes the querent.

2.      A power they don’t realize they have.

3.      A pleasant surprise soon to come into their life.

4.      Something they are doing that they don’t realize is setting them back.

5.      Negative energy or intent that is following them in secret.

When I last read this spread, the Two of Pentacles in position two told me that I’d be coming across an opportunity to combine my interests, furthering both my education and my career, and I was recently offered an internship in the field I want to find a job in once I graduate!

Marigold petals

Lunar Rose Milk Self-Love Tea Spell

a self-love tea spell to remind ourselves that while having someone to snuggle is a nice thought for the month of love, loving yourself is the best valentine’s day gift of all. even if you have a partner of your own, it never hurts to give yourself a self-love boost

🌕 gather: rose petals (organic, food grade rose petals), pot, black tea, milk*, full moon water (filtered), honey, strainer 🌹 optional: sugar can be used to sweeten, cause honey you are a sweetie 🌕 cook time: 5 to 10 minutes

🌹 pour about a cup and a half of your choice of milk into your pot followed by the black tea and the rose petals. when it comes to the rose petals fresh or dried can be used, but dried petals pack more flavor. slowly let the milk come to a simmer, but never a boil

🌕 add a tablespoon of your full moon water for love, healing, cleansing, and mental clarity. gone are your insecurities and doubts that you deserve to be loved by anyone, yourself most of all

🌹 using the honey, make a waxing gibbous glyph for motivation to treat yourself right like the boss ass witch that you are. stir clockwise for harmony and peace of mind that you will be okay with yourself no matter what the future may hold

🌕 once the tea is ready, strain into the cup of your choice and drink up and think about all the things that make you great and that you love about yourself and go about your day

*assam and/or darjeeling is recommended for a great black milk tea. i also personally use lactose free milk because i’m lactose intolerant so yes you can substitute with milk alternatives if you can’t drink milk*
