Kenobi theory
SPOILERS FOR KENOBI 1-6
Ok so me and my bf were watching someone reviewing the last ep of Kenobi and he made a point that got us thinking.
In the last fight between obi wan and vader, kenobi cuts off part of his mask and has an emotional scene, which this guy complained because it was a rip off of the rebels fight with ahsoka and vader (thats not the point of this post though)
so we started thinking, and i think we have come to an agreement as to why this happened again, since vader is infamous for killing full battalions and not batting an eye.
We think that, during these two fights, he let the mask get cut.
By looking the most important people in his life in the eyes, he's determining whether or not he should or could go back to the light side.
The Kenobi show further proves this because of the lighting choice. Star Wars movies have always been infamous for their strong use of colors and lighting, especially in the newer releases.
In that fight scene, when the mask is first cut, all of the lighting on vaders face was the blue light of kenobi's saber. and it changes between red and blue, then ending with red at the end of the fight.
Its like he is further solidifying that he made the right choice. each one of these important fights were choosing to fall to the dark side, killing anakin even more.
