It's a frosty morning in the Gloucestershire countryside.
A snap from this mornings beautiful sunrise in the heart of the countryside
For my Part 3 project I am investigating how sport can impact mental health. I have explored this by doing extensive factual, and art work inspiration research which has developed on to me thinking of creating a campaign/creating awareness of how sport can have a positive impact on your mind. For one of my ideas I am creating posters. This is allowing me to experiment with fonts, layouts, photo affects etc. Here is one of my experimentation pieces.
Legit Back Wall Mural by Dani Loureiro
The Searcher by Dani Loureiro
These pieces of work are based around sound, and the response in which you have to different types of sound. I created them by listening to four different songs. The thread over the top represents the type genres of each song, for example if its soft, harsh, emotional etc. To create these I used biro pen, wax pastels and different types of thread.
These prints were made for the The Bystander Project. It helps to portray the physiological affect that is involved with the theory of people avoiding someone or something due to thoughts such as ' someone else will help', 'its their own fault', 'I don't have time to help'. Instead of using a figurative image I selected simple shapes that represented humans and a shape to represent this thing that they are avoiding. On the colour print however i changed the colour of one of the foot prints to help project the message that its ok to help people, that you could help or save a life by not following what everyone else is doing.
These images represent the thoughts, feelings and emotions that young girls often develop due to societies impact of whats perfect. I carefully selected some words that link to this that penetrate a strong, powerful message across to the viewer. I used the black and white affect to help amplify the atmosphere in the photo, creating a slightly ghostly, distorted feeling.
Here are a few selected prints that I have developed and printed using the UV screen print technique. These prints are based on the subject matter 'Body Image' and use words that often relate to people being self-conscious.
During one of my projects I was given the design brief of 'Narrative', which after much research lead me onto looking at body image as my subject matter. This is how I came to develop images like these. I was inspired by a photographer called Brett Walker who used layering in some of his images. I therefore decided to take photos of my own and layered and developed them. To me, these images portray the hidden emotions that people keep hidden away from others, but are struggling with the battle within themselves to keep it all contained and that it wants to break out or break down inside.
