“I will have poetry in my life. And adventure. And love. Love above all.”
— Viola De Lesseps, Shakespeare in Love (1998)
The gospel is so simple that small children can understand it, and it is so profound that studies by the wisest theologians will never exhaust its riches.
— Charles Hodge
I am changing. I am growing. I am becoming better.
“Travel and tell no one. Live a true love story and tell no one. Live happily and tell no one. People ruin beautiful things.”
— Khalil Gibran (via charmrose)
“Find out what makes you kinder, what opens you up and brings out the most loving, generous, and unafraid version of you―and go after those things as if nothing else matters. Because, actually, nothing does.”
— George Saunders (via mishproductions)
I heard something the other day that I had never really thought about before. Someone mentioned to me that whenever you catch yourself missing someone who left your life, you should remind yourself that them not being part of your present is a consistent choice they make every day. They wake up and decide to maintain the silence. They’re indifferent as to whether the space between you gets larger. And that in itself is pretty powerful closure.
“Sit in the world, sit in the dark. Sit in meditation, sit in light. Choose your seat. Let wisdom grow.”
— Buddha (via goodreadss)
When you're with someone
You don’t just sign up for the cute dates, the cuddles, the smiles. You don’t just sign up for the long talks, and learning each other’s hearts. You sign up for the struggles, the crying, the anger and depression. You sign up for the screaming and pushing away. You don’t get to pick and choose. That’s the beautiful part. You don’t just get the good…You get the bad that comes with it and form love out of it all.
“Get into the habit of asking yourself, does this support the life I am trying to create?”
— Irisa Yardenah
“Have the discipline to work hard even when no one is watching. It’s in those little moments that the successful rise above.”
— Nicole Addison @thepowerwithin
“One clear sign that you are in an unhealthy relationship is that you find yourself compromising your values and beliefs to keep the other person happy. Take a stand for what you believe, what is important to you, for who you are. Don’t allow yourself to become someone you don’t like.”
— (via purplebuddhaquotes)
“I don’t regret you. I don’t care how it ended. I don’t care about your worst. I remember how it began and how happy it made me. I won’t ever regret you.”
— Sue Zhao (via h-o-r-n-g-r-y)
