Hi! I'm Turtle :D I've never made an intro post before actually. No clue what I'm doing.
This is a sideblog dedicated to my Deltarune stuff (mostly the Mike Trio, Friend, and some pippins ocs) so I don't talk all my friends and mutuals' ears off. My main blog is @turtleplushi, but I don't post there super often. I can't promise that this blog will be super well maintained, but I've wanted to be a bigger part of the community since July and figured I might at well just get the scary part over with.
I also frequent on Youtube and have a couple animations posted there already here. I'll probably end up posting anything that I don't post there over here, so mostly WIPs and dumb stuff that's more suitable for Tumblr.

Francesa
she/her
Francesa is probably the one i draw in my sketchbook most often
She's quiet and meanspirited but very loyal to her friends. She works in costuming and is the closest with Arbitrage and Shuttah, but has a positive acquaintanceship with Pushka. She deviates from the regular pippins uniform and loves to stand out, even if she never appears on stage. I tend to change my headcanons towards Battat a lot, but in the case that he works in the costuming department they're sort of uncommited rivals. Battat thinks she's stuck up and she likes to make jabs at him whenever they meet (he thinks it's more serious than she does). He doesn't like her very much and she's more than ready to spread rumors about him, but they both agree that the other is very capable and good at their jobs
If Battat were to secretly take any fabric from their supplies and there were any prying eyes around to notice, well... word gets around fast. She can keep a secret though
A little fun fact about her is that her name comes from the game Banca Francesa. Her name is pronounced like "franchessa" instead of "fran-say-sa," though. Most of the names here come from a poker/dice games glossary
Arbitrage

Okay now i know they aren't technically an oc but I really really wanted to include them alright </33
Arbitrage is my oc-ified version of Hater Pippins. They didn't start off as much, but when I told my irl friend about my pippins (including them) it kind of escalated and I just decided to name them. They're much louder than Francesa, not having the tact to not to tell someone off to their face. They're the first to hear any dirt given by her as well, which they flaunt to the other pippins and try to sell it for points. They're also more of a high roller
Their relationship with Ramb is. Interesting. They'd probably rather petrify than admit they actually enjoy his presence, something I'm sure will have no negative consequences whatsoever. I'm sure he'll be okay
They're one of the only pippins thats actively antagonistic towards Battat. The others genuinely like him (not that he knows that), but Arbitrage hates his guts for how he looked down on them in the Card Castle days. They felt betrayed and maybe a little jealous?
A fun fact is that their s-rank pass was bought from Coolpins/sunglasses pippins (named "Connie" for simplicity) and their star tie was a gift from Francesa. Every time I draw it I think of this one image I saw on pinterest of a similar tie that said "this is literally the ugliest thing i have ever fucking seen" but I can't find it anymore.. sad...
Pushka
he/him (potentially it/its as well? im considering it)
Pushka!!! He's the newest one and I adore him completely. His name isn't actually the russian word (meaning cannon or gun), but the friend i mentioned before speaks russian and noticed it sounded the same. It's meant to be the polish word for container or charity dish, which is used as a gambling term sometimes (like the betting pot)
He's based extremely loosely on the pippins that tells you about the shadowguy contracts and a little less loosely on Snufkin from The Moomins. He fled from Tenna's contracts and refused to be employed under him, traveling through the purple cliffs instead. He's friends with a shadowguy, who's a bit of a work in progress, named Cabaret. She plays the oboe and retreats to a sort of speakeasy under TV World that mostly pippins and shadowguys frequent. Pushka drops by every now and then and tells her about his travels (and they flirt a bit...)
I like to think the further away from the boundary of the dark world you get, the more likely you are to petrify if you aren't fulfilling some kind of purpose. It would also be kind of neat if somewhere in the vast purple cliffs there was a chance of running into some titan spawn, but I don't know how much sense that would make. Pushka likes to toe the line a little
He also has russian roulette based attacks, kind of inspired by the unintentional double meaning. He caries a rifle around and his patterns are entirely luck based
Peepins

Apparently this guy is cursed because I'm blaming him for deleting my draft!!!!!!! Get this guy out of here rip him to shreds!!!!
Peepins is by far my favorite of these circus freaks, but he's non canon so he only really exists for me to bully him at this point. I love drawing her with the others though. Shes based on Voice of the Opportunist from Slay the Princess which. She certainly doesn't look it. There's a reason why Francesa haaates him vehemently though
He goes against everything Francesa believes about loyalty, willing to sell out anyone if it meant he got a chance at getting out scott free. He's a loser and a little scoundrel who deserves to be thrown to the rats. Love her though
She was named when I was still trying to match the "-ippins" theme that the oc server was going with (didn't last long) and is based on a duck themed die i found online. Rip Peepins you would have loved the Thrash Machine
Juice

She's the last pippins i have much to talk about (I'd have to make a part two when i finalize Cabaret's design) and the one I draw the least, so the pictures here are pretty old
Here it is.. my shameless oc x canon..
When I dont headcanon Battat as a costume designer for convenience, he works in audio instead. Juice (nicknamed as such by the other pippins ironically for being a horrendously low roller) works as a boom operator, so they meet backstage and talk as friends whenever Battat can actually show up to work as himself. She has a huge crush on Mike though...
She's very shy and not a big fan of the spotlight, so she tries to stay out of trouble and in her lane as much as she can. However, she's close friends with Peepins, who likes to drag her out to casinos and pippins parties to act as a scapegoat. It spends a lot of its time in the punishment cages as a result, but Peepins always comes to break her out. Eventually. Its okay, it doesn't mind the quiet

query!!!! should i keep introducing my pippins one at a time as i make new art of them, or do i make a few long posts about them right now and stop trying to be patient and normal? they don't really have any plot right now and some are more developed than others, but i still have a good amount of info i could share
i could also just let people ask about them on their own, but i don't really have a big enough audience (if any) and i cant guarantee anyone will care lol
