I'd like to apologize for the lack of posts recently. I know that this blog helps a lot of you but recently we've been burnt out. Not just that but a lot of the stuff said on SystemsCringe and FDC has been getting to me, and that's definitely not a good thing to happen

Red here. I am going to be extremely defensive here because I didn't mean to come across like that.

I did not say "if you have to use these tools you shouldn't speak at all"1

When I said "If you aren't up for speaking, don't" (paraphrasing) I had the opposite of ableism in mind.

What I meant to say was "If you aren't feeling up for speaking, you can speak, but don't feel like you HAVE to speak, and don't push yourself to or beyond your limits. Don't hurt yourself."

I have no recollection of saying "if you have to use these tools then don't communicate" or something along the lines of that. If I did? Fuck me.

I'm an asshole and I am extremely sorry. I'm bad at apologies. And words in general. Those are excuses. I didn't mean for it to come across like that, and I have plenty of excuses to "defend" myself but they truely aren't anything more than excuses.

I recently found r/SystemsCringe, somehow had the idea it would be like.. systems having a giggle with other systems and making jokes about how they're 'cringe' (but not actually) for having certains headmates and etc... read it for a bit and ended up in a weird place mentally w/imposter syndrome. Since reading this blog I've been feeling way better, thanks /g /lh.

Hello. I know this debate is rather old now, but I was scrolling through your blog and came across a discussion about nv emoji you had with red-echoing-sounds. You both wrote about the use of ASL in the iconography, with the main talking points being if this was appropriative or ableist.

If I could add my input as someone who has used Augmentative and Alternative Communication, this really has very little to do with ASL and deaf culture and more to do with AAC. ASL is very commonly used in icons for AAC, which is what nv emotes are. I would not say this is appropriative or ableist toward HoH people, as this is the way most iconographic AAC gets certain concepts across (the "need" category, for example). Words are also used in iconographic AAC, so the argument of "not understanding without the translation" is a bit moot - that's more for the receiver of the message, anyway.

Another important note here is that many HoH people use AAC! Sometimes these communities overlap. For HoH AAC users, the use of ASL can be more intuitive for them!

Overall, the discussion being had wasn't the "right one." The real debate should be if AAC should use ASL for iconography, and if not, what should be used instead so that AAC is still functional. As it stands, though, ASL as a part of AAC is crucial for many nv people's communication, and blaming nv people for this system is simply unfair (especially red-echoing-sounds saying that if people need these tools they shouldn't speak at all. Truly disgusting ableism from him).

Hello! We've been opening up to our counselor about our plurality and just sent them the PDF for "Transgender Mental Health" by Eric Yarbourough that you shared. Pointing to the plurality section. They said that when studying DID they overlooked plurality many times but that now it has become part of their work thanks to us. Do you have any more resources you could share for us to pass on to our counselor? Also, thank you very much for this account. you can point out the parts in the DID and OSDD sections of icd 11 and dsm5 where it taoks about there being exceptions for spiritual systems, thus recognizing nontruamagenic plurality.

FB said "the ones" by the way, not "all pro-endos" when talking about the messages they were sent. If you are referring to "the endogenic community is fucking toxic" when you say "generalising a whole community based on a few bad apples" keep in mind that they may not have had the healthiest interactions with the people that they interacted with and/or they probably wrote this in an emotional state. People say that the MLP community is toxic, but people know that not every person applies.

Are you saying that fb deserved to get doxxed and sent death threats and accused of grooming people? You don't have to have sympathy for them, but you do not have to say that they brought it on themself.

I'm honestly always so scared of opening up to others about being a part of a system, because I'm afraid of us being attacked. My headmates are more likely to just shrug it off than me, but I know it still hurts them to be told they aren't real.

Do you have any tips for figuring out which spaces are safe/not?

we ourself usually just hang out in a private server with some system friends of ours but, you can tell by a few things.

1) always make sure to use the block button liberally, in case your wrong.

2) if a place has endo in the title or is unprofessional, its probably bait or more prone to targeting by syscringe. (applies to mainly discord servers)

3) taking a quick look at a blog and scrolling for a bit, see if they say anything about their stamce on syscourse, if they have any. you figure out what to do from there.

4) places with fluid blacklists instead of static ones tend to get targeted more.

5) if people are hostile, it generally isnt safe. (applied to like, everything, on both sides.)
