When I heard inklings that Rowling was liking terf tweets, years ago, I threw out all our HP books. In the garbage. I threw out all the HP stuff I had, even the stuff with special memories like how my mom wrote me notes in the front covers of the books for 7 year old me. I got over it pretty quick and the books aren’t very good anyway, tbh, and you can literally make more memories without supporting transmisogyny.

I threw the books out of my classroom, encouraged my coworkers to do so, and don’t recommend the books to my students. If my students ask to read them, I recommend something else. They will not get them from me. I tell them why. The kids are usually unaware of what she has done but very understanding when they know and immediately grab a different book. My kids are as young as 11.

It’s not hard to actually boycott something. White tme gays in the notes of every Rowling post lamenting their stupid childhood books and saying shit like “I’ll wait for her to die before I buy her books again” like no. Let them, and her, die. There are better fucking books that don’t support a terf, full stop.
