【 藤 】   Yuusaku wasn’t sure what he DISLIKED more about this whole ordeal — the fact that Ai had somehow managed to sign him up as a volunteer without him realizing it, or how PINK the surroundings were.  Then again, color preferences were a personal choice; he couldn’t truly blame the event for oncoming signs of a HEADACHE that he was already starting to feel from looking at the pastel colors for too long.

        Ai really was too smart of a Sableye if he could learn how to write the human language and fill out an application form.  Speaking of. . .         It didn’t take Yuusaku too long to locate his companion Pokemon, and he SIGHED upon realizing just where the little cretin scampered off to.

        ❝ Ai, don’t you dare climb that tree!  You’ll mess up the decorations! ❞  Now he has to go stop his Sableye from attempting to scale the Battle Tree in order to place an “angel” on the topmost branch.

【 藤 】   The streets of Wyndon were by far the busiest in all of Galar as far as Yuusaku was concerned.  It wasn’t far-fetched to come to that conclusion since the city has the LARGEST POPULATION in the region, but that didn’t mean that he had to like it.  It didn’t help in the slightest either that this was his first time in Wyndon and thus even the map he grabbed at the train station was of little help.         Thankfully, Yuusaku was a city boy at the core ( even if he hated the city crowds ), so it was becoming easier to navigate once he was able to find SPOTS OF QUIETNESS to regain his nerves.  Like a quaint park on the outskirts, which was unsurprisingly devoid of the hustle and bustle just a few yards away.  

        While he wasn’t the only person in the vicinity, all but ONE looked content in their activities.  No, there was one person who looked worried and had all the signs of a person who was lost. 

          ❝ Hey, do you need help? ❞

【 藤 】   Over the course of his travels throughout the Galar region, Yuusaku had ended up obtaining a copy of the best-selling book, GALAR: A HISTORY, from the local Professor.  It had proved to be an interesting read, and while he wouldn’t normally go out of his way to track down the author, he figured it wouldn’t hurt to drop by the research lab located in Wedgehurst since he happened to be in the area.  Apparently the lab was open to the public ( even though it looks like hardly anyone followed up on the opportunity ), but when he walked through the door —

        — Yuusaku didn’t see a single soul on the premise.  That was CERTAINLY ODD, but that didn’t mean no one wasn’t there.

BREAKING NEWS

LIVE FROM WYNDON, THIS IS A  SPECIAL EMERGENCY BROADCAST.

ACCORDING TO EXCLUSIVE VIDEO FOOTAGE, IT SEEMS LIKE AN UNKNOWN GROUP OF MALEFACTORS HAVE BRUTE-FORCED THEIR WAY INTO THE GALAR BORDER AGENCY AND STOLEN A LARGE QUANTITY OF POKEMON HELD INTO CUSTODY, THE MAJORITY OF THEM BEING POKEMON FOREIGN TO THE REGION OF GALAR!

THE EVENTS HAPPENED IN THE NIGHT OF THE 28TH TO THE 29TH, BETWEEN MIDNIGHT AND 2 AM.

THE PERPETRATORS ARE CURRENTLY AT LARGE, BUT THE POLICE IS ON THE CASE RIGHT NOW.

《 BEDE, THE GYM LEADER 》

                ❝ … do you need help? ❞

               visitors were a rather uncommon sight in ballonlea — during the off-season, at least. glimwood was no place for the unprepared, after all; navigating the forest was a daunting enough task for those who had reason to traverse it.      ( even relying on galar’s trademark corviknight was made difficult, due to the thick canopy of intertwining branches. ) as a result, guests were few and the village was small enough that anyone unfamiliar had a tendency to stick out like a sore thumb.

               bede was able to pick the trainer out as someone new almost immediately.      ( with some amount of pride, even. just like a true ballonlea local. ) he hadn’t meant to eavesdrop — he simply overheard him speaking to himself and decided to intervene. as much as the fairy trainer preferred acting aloof and keeping others at a distance, he couldn’t ignore pokemon that were potentially in need.

                ❝ i live here, if that wasn’t already obvious. ❞ more than lived there — he was the gym leader.      ( the uniform made that much abundantly clear. ) ❝ glimwood tangle is no place for the unprepared; if your team is injured, i can show you where the pokemon center is. ❞ he supposed it was also his responsibility, in a way.

【 藤 】   The sound of an unfamiliar voice caused for muscles to tense up — did someone overhear his mutterings?  How embarrassing. . .  Yuusaku knew better than to get CAUGHT OFF GUARD, yet there was just something about this place that he couldn’t put his finger on.  It was almost as if there was something in the atmosphere, a calming allure that made him feel at ease.          Either that or EXHAUSTION was hitting him.  Yeah, it was probably that.  

        His attention was now directed to the stranger that stood behind him, Yuusaku turning around so he could be standing FACE-TO-FACE with him.  While a newcomer to this region, he wasn’t completely ignorant of traditions here ( well, he’s had to learn them through experience or observation ).  That sort of attire, wasn’t that one of a GYM LEADER?  Or at the very least, a gym trainer affiliated with the stadium.  Even during the off-season, they still wore their uniforms?

        Talk about DEDICATION to their work.

        ❝ Yeah, I would appreciate that. ❞  If there was one thing that Yuusaku was sure of, it was that those of gym-authority hold little malice; whether it was due to their NATURE or their OBLIGATIONS, they would help out those in need.  And his team definitely needs some attention.

        ❝ Your forest is a force to be reckoned with, only one of my Pokemon had some resistance to the native species. ❞
