It’s genuinely so disheartening seeing people in the monster high (g3 obvi) community completely ignore the fact that Deuce is very loudly intended to be aromantic.
Tbh it may be a more personal gripe because im just so attached to him but in general we BARELY get any sort of recognition at all, let alone any sort of representation that explicitly presents both identities of aromanticism and asexuality as 2 separate, yet coexisting, when most aro rep tends to be entirely ignored and implied to be an inherent part of asexuality as a whole.
But, regardless, to see in that this space which is intended to be a safe space for all queer people that this one character that represents you is the one which half the community consistently ignores their identity for their own convenience just really irks me.
I’m definitely overthinking this and I’m pretty sure most instances of this happening are from people who just genuinely don’t know rather than anyone genuinely intending to erase rep but it still doesn’t make the blow any less painful. Idk maybe I’m that one friend that’s too woke
