THE ABSOLUTELY STUNNING ARTWORK WAS DESIGNED BY DIO MAXWELLE ( @weoncehadnamesofficial )

Been looking forward to getting this single out; a theme song for the main character of my fictional PS1 survival horror game, combining rock, big beat, 90s rave, turntablism and a bunch of other musical influences, and a b-side remix that ups the 90s rave factor. As its based on motifs for music I've written for the project, it carries a bittersweet tone that matches the more tender and sombre aspects of Yuna's personality, but has a 'cooler' edge that reflects her tastes and style (and reflects the period in which the game would have come our, if it were. Y'know. Real.)

Breach in particular I really wanted to fix, as that was a cover I did an old friend- always felt I let them down a little bit with the original cover, so I am considerably happier with the new one. You'd be surprised which of these two took more work and time to come together. But then, you might not; the deceptively simple things are usually the most tricky in the grand scheme of things.

Since getting access to better graphic design tools + taking the plunge into trying to improve my craft in the field (as it is one I've had a passion for but didn't fully persue), I've been going back and updating some of my previous cover art efforts with (what I hope to be) much, much better ones. I've been chomping at the bit to get this out since finishing it a couple of weeks back; a heavily reworked version of one of my older xmas singles, injected with influences from Pa's Lam System and Cola Splash to reshape it into a proper little christmas rave tool. The download also includes a selection of art from me, a textless version of @diomaxwelle 's (aka @weoncehadnamesofficial ) amazing cover art, and a some metafiction stuff relating to the two characters of mine featured on the cover. Drafted up some Xmas Attire for one of my Splatoon characters, Maltine, for a Thing™️ I've worked on lately. This is a teaser for that Thing™️, but I'm also shoeing it off because I like how the outfit came out and this was freehand straight-to-pen, no sketch, yet it looks actually sort of alright 😭

Should note that "wiser" indicates both general intelligence and a surprisingly philosophical and spiritual core.

Advent Calendar 2025 Day 1, feat. Rudy

I'm a little bit late to posting this on the 1st in my timezone, but hey ho.

My friend and partner Dio / @weoncehadnamesofficial started doing a yearly Advent Calendar drawing challenge a couple of years before I first met her, wherein she draws a piece of art every day between the 1st and 24th of December. My own yearly xmas project- an album/EP thats some degree of xmas themed- owes its existence to being inspired by what Dio was doing, trying a drawing challenge of my own (albeit cut down to twelve pieces) for a couple years, before changing focus as my desire to push being a musicians as far as I could really began to bloom.

This year, though? I feel like returning to my roots. There may be one, possibly two, bits of music this year, but there will be no album; this year, I'm gonna see if I can get 24 drawings out for a proper advent calendar. I've got a prompt list and everything. I might post pieces daily, I might post them in batches if I get more than one done, we'll see how things go.

This first piece features my character Rudy (wonder what public domain character he's based off of), double checking his next destination after dropping off a batch of presents (and enjoying the carrot kindly left to him by the homeowners). The little letter he left, which is mostly indiscernable squiggles, is meant to say "thank you for the carrot! - Rudy", but I of course left myself absolutely no space and even a 0.03 wasn't going to save me. I had a few different ideas for pieces I wanted to do with Rudy but the sketches were all coming out terrible- even the first passes at this were a bit rough- and though I do wish this was a bit more ambitious than it is, its at least not 'character does random pose in white void'- something I will be trying my best to avoid.
