hi! may i ask how do you colour your gifs? i'm new to gif making and i don't know what adjustments i should use or where to start coloring, and your gifs are very beautiful<3
hello!!! thank you for saying my gifs are beautiful first of all 😳🤍 second of all, i'm very much a believer of less is more when it comes to colouring gifs, so i'll have like max four or five adjustment layers on a gif at a time. all i'm looking for is usually just to make a gif brighter/maybe colour correct if a scene looks especially horrendous... otherwise i'm not trying to actually do much, if that makes sense?
i'll walk you through an example under the cut, but just know that you'll have to be adjusting these layers constantly. the lighting will always change scene to scene (even cut to cut) so just know even if your base colouring looks good on one scene, it might not look good for another, and it's not a you problem it's just a ohhhh damn this is what gifing is like? problem :ppp
okay so on the top: the unedited gif. all i've applied is my sharpening. and on the bottom: sharpening + colouring.
put side by side you can extra tell that i didn't edit much, right? mostly i've just brightened it and tried to make the blue pop a bit more... because i love for blues to be very Blue personally :3

i hope this helps!!! i would ofc, encourage experimenting with adjustments layers yourself, bc it's basically a trial and error process all gif makers must go through at some point 🫡 but if you're really struggling, a scroll through the gif psd tag might help!! i worked with base psds i downloaded off other people for a long time before i figured things out enough to start making my own :3
