I just thought of something

if the Polarize intro is supposed to be about josh’s demons, josh’s blurryface, then why is it not in his voice? why is it in tyler’s voice?

what if it’s because, deep down, he’s massively insecure about his friendship with tyler and his place in the band?

another thing

throughout the Polarize intro josh was obeying the voice - “come downstairs:, “go to the kitchen” etc - but he disobeyed the voice in the end and went on stage

what if these tours are the only thing helping josh fight his demons?

here’s what i think.

even though it’s tyler’s voice in the video, the main focus is still on josh. maybe the video is meant to portray josh trying to put himself in tyler’s shoes. 

josh and tyler are extremely dependent on one another and tend to go along with whatever the other one is saying/doing as long as it’s in their best interest. when tyler is telling josh to go downstairs/to the kitchen, josh listens because he feels safe following tyler’s instructions. 

although josh has stated many times that he feels safest when he’s playing the drums. remember the guns for hands video? tyler gave josh a ski mask and told him he could take it off when he was ready. josh tore off the mask the second he got behind the drum kit because he felt truly comfortable there.

it could also be that tyler is asking josh to stay with him and help him fight blurryface, just the two of them. tyler asks josh not to go back on stage but josh does it anyway because he needs to express himself in his own way.

keep in mind that josh normally hides behind his kit but now he’s doing the drum line and stepping out on his own. he’s breaking out of the hold that his blurryface has kept him on. he’s finally coming into his own.
