so apparently it's yuri day (25th June) so i thought i'd recommend some of my favs! but i won't go into any detail because i seriously want to avoid spoilers ><

(fun fact: this is my actual top favourite yuri)

(also trigger warning for pseudo-incest for this one!)

it follows a girl who lives with her brother and his wife whom she has a crush on

there's a lot of drama and some characters are quite toxic in their behaviour but ig that's what makes it interesting

Ouji-sama Nante Iranai (EN title: We Don't Need A Prince) by Harushion

imagine if Romeo and Juliet was with lesbians in an all girls highschool where the characters sometimes wear pretty gowns. that's the basis of the story here (though luckily the main couple doesn't die in this one)

(btw this one is in full colour and a longstrip format, which is pretty cool imo)

Kase-san to... (EN title: Kase-san and...) by Hiromi Takashima

(imo this is the most beginner friendly title in the post)

it's a very wholesome manga series about two girls who are very different from each other but end up falling in love despite everything

btw there's a sequel manga called Yamada to Kase-san (EN title: Yamada and Kase-san), where the characters are in university

and it also has a short ONA called Kimi no Hikari ~Asagao to Kase-san~ (EN title: Your Light ~Kase-san and Morning Glories~) and a longer OVA called Asagao to Kase-san (EN title: Kase-san and Morning Glories)

Flip Flappers by Kiyotaka Oshiyama, Yuniko Ayana, and Studio 3Hz

(the only title here that doesn't have a manga and is an anime original)

this is a story about two girls who go through different dimensions to collect fragments of an object that can grant wishes

there's a bunch of stuff related to the subconscious and psychology in general

also they don't kiss or anything (sadly) but the "subtext" is honestly not even a "subtext", it's just "text" so many people count it as yuri
