Snow lands on top.

I just wanted to share with you my thoughts on this one specific line. I am romanian and I have read the book in romanian, where the literal translation was "Zăpada cade întotdeauna deasupra" which translates back to English as "Snow always falls on top". Of course, this was the line that the story was built upon, but it captures such a new meaning through this translation and slightly different phrasing.

The first thing that comes to mind is obviously, the ending. I can just imagine Coriolanus, with this knowing smirk on his face, poisoning Highbottom's morphine. This was, after all, his first premeditated murder. He thought all the details, careful not to leave any traces behind. I just picture those words, as some sort of mantra right in the back of his mind, as he puts the lid back on the medicine. Snow always falls on top. No matter how many times people tried to bring him down or completely take him out of the picture, he always found a way back to every person who wronged him, laughing in their faces.

I think this whole translated thing holds a whole new, different kind of power and adds a graveness to the statement, making it final; unquestionable. No matter how the turntables, no matter which route things take, snow always falls on top. Also, this statement goes hand in hand with Snow's morals : he obviously has a big ego and always had this hunger for power; this hunger of being in control.

Overall, I think if I will ever buy the book in English, this sentence and this book will always be engraved deep into my heart with this "Snow always falls on top" version. It adds a lot of depth and I just wanted to share this with you and give you all a different perspective on this BoSaS quote.

Suzanne Collins: Clearly, you bitches didn’t get the message. Y’all suppose to be horrified and disgusted by the hunger games not get excited about them. This is not some fun tournament. This is not the Triwizard Tournament. This is not a game. She goes off to write Songbirds and Snakes. I’ll show you exactly how you became just like the Capitol citizens.

People reading the new book: This book is boring. The hunger games are boring. It just doesn’t have the excitement it had in the original trilogy. Why not give us a prequel about Haymitch’s hunger games. Where is the pageantry and fun.

Suzanne Collins: YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSE TO LOVE THE HUNGER GAMES. Seriously, what do I have to do to get that message across. We are all doomed.
