in horror films, the color green is used to express disgust, fear or any unsettling emotion and it has to be this highly specific way of shedding this very specific shade of green, it is one of many obsessions I have and in live music shows I get a dopamine surge whenever I see it.
hayden has used it in the first leg of the europe tour and seeing her live for the first time and opening with willoughby's theme + the green light had my jaw on the floor in a frozen state of euphoria and terror.
now seeing her again using it differently, this time to open nettles made me feel so shocked, horrified by the horror that nettles can be associated with fear.
in spirituality the color green is the heart chakra representing our ability to love and be loved and by using that color hayden opens our minds to give and receive love, to connect with everyone in the room so yes nettles are indeed green but it's not just about that, nettles are technically poisonous, they sting and like many things in nature which are green they can be beautiful but so dangerous and therefore physically painful.
surely live performances are thought of and knowing hayden she puts thought in every detail, maybe my interpretation isn't the one she had in mind but it made me feel a certain way and I love all she does in terms of stage performance because I have seen so many artists just ignore the importance of visual effects on auditory spectacles.
I also think of deaf/blind people who may need either and/or both of these as aid to feel the live music deeper and I hope those people feel somewhat satisfied at hayden's shows when seeing or hearing the thought process that I manage to notice because most people just don't care about a single light color being used but I do and I don't think I can stop going to concerts to see those green lights.
