Imagine that you are the sole provider for your family in the midst of a devastating genocide. Every day, you watch the land you once knew be levelled by bombs and scarred by weapons. Every night, you fear sudden death from the drones humming menacingly overhead.
As you do your best to navigate your family safely through the unimaginable, your little siblings, going hungry from the shortage of food brought about by the conflict, look to you for food, shelter, and comfort. With infrastructure almost totally decimated, and no jobs to be had, how are you going to provide for them so you can all survive to see another day?
This is the nightmarish reality that Jafaar Wael has been living in since October of 2023.

Story written by @rumiandroses
Jaafar, a young man from North Gaza, is fighting to support his family through unimaginable hardship. As the sole provider of his family, he shoulders the immense responsibility of caring for his loved ones, including his younger siblings, who rely on him for food, clothing, and warmth.
The fight to raise money to survive has been an uphill battle for Jafaar; a struggle which has only been compounded by his first GoFundMe campaign being inexplicably deleted. With the deleted campaign went all of the money Jafaar had managed to raise.
Despite this devastating setback, Jafaar is trying again, launching a second fundraising campaign in hopes of giving his family a chance at survival. His plea is simple but urgent: even small donations, as little as $5, can help provide food, warm clothing, and the hope they so desperately need.
“Please don’t ignore me,” Jaafar wrote to us in his request for assistance. “Any amount you donate, even if it is small, will save my family. Be merciful with us, please."
This young man's determination to save his beloved family is unwavering, and he clings to the hope that the kindness of others will make a difference. Let us be the living embodiment of that difference for Jafaar and his family.
If you cannot donate, please share Jafaar's story so his voice can reach people who are able to financially assist.
