canelo alvarez is right abt "mexican-american" not being mexican. having mexican heritage and being mexican are two different things that yall just DONT like to acknowledge. which is y we got sooo many "no sabos" that are pro trump/republican. they disregard their mother tongue, refuse to hold their hand out to those that gave them that heritage, never bother w our history or education, & even moreso refuse to have association w anything BUT the pride we make for ourselves. which is also y we had sooo many pro ice mfs in mexico jerseys during the cup. yall only wanna be mexican when its for the title of the culture. NOT for the actual peoples of the culture. like it or not. hes right. mexicans can only do soo much to try and show yall that no matter where ur born or what privileges ur born w, ur still mexican. "los mexicanos nacen donde se les dan la chingada gana". but yall refuse it to no ends & even give support to the oppressors that divided us in the first place. hes right. yall are just ignorant abt y. truly. until mexican americans start giving a fuck abt mexicans and mexico. how can u claim the pride & not shame of that?? how can u claim the title & not struggle?? u CANT. especially when ur not even fighting against the struggles of what being MEXICAN-american means in america in the first place. & then u had ppl saying "im not gonna let a white boy w red hair tell me im not mexican". which is another show of ignorance w what "mexican" IS. the amount of white & black mexicans is beyond half. and THEY speak, read, write, think, in their mother tongue abt their land and people. thats far more than some brown guy w mexican parents. im sorry, but it just is. to truly be mexican, no matter where in the world, u HAVE to gaf abt mexicans/mexico. u have to have that SPIRIT and LOVE for urs. thats y it shouldnt matter where in the world. but it does, bc then yall think ur white for the luck of geography. as a mexcian american who HAS also been told they arent mexican enough. thats fine. bc i know i AM. but i also know WHY ive been told that. so what did i do? i started reading, writing, learning MORE. speaking MORE. abt my peoples. bc its the LEAST i could do. to protect and support them WITH my privileges. if yall simply stepped out of urselves for a second & tried to understand a different perspective. its NOT personal. its simply the truth. thats what differences are. and differences matter.
