not sure if this is actually helpful to anyone but I feel like the use of colors is very important for the kind of feeling you’re going for with your art! so I thought I’d show you what I think when I say “warm/cold/etc. colors”. keeping yourself inside one of the categories when drawing a piece can be very helpful - of course you don’t have to use only the colors showed here, mixing stuff is rad. One of my earliest designs, the concept of a flying cat has really stuck around! I liked that pokemon introduced the idea of invasive species so I decided to incorporate that here, fitting for an island region. These mons started developing fur patterns to mimic birds. I imagine they actually use the ear/wings to glide from tree to tree, still able to hunt like a normal cat. Their subtle griffin inspiration also ties them into the region's mythology theme!
