      “Someone decided that it was funny and so smart to call one of the elven waitresses ‘knife ear’ and other pleasant names. I decided to intervene and they thought it was hilarious, so they proceeded to escalate the situation.” she pauses, head tilting as she searched the words to speak over her heavy accent. She wasn’t sorry for what she did, and her straight back and calm tone were evidence of it “I didn’t hear what they said after my fist hit their teeth, so I guess it’s my fault.” but that had been funny, and they had been extremely lucky.

[ ✗ ] —┊  declan wasn’t particularly fond of the bullshit that transpired beneath his own command; though, he was inquisitor, he often felt as if he had no control over much of anything; being that he’d not asked for the title, but it had been thrust upon him, it made sense. ❝ i UNDERSTAND, but you can’t -- josie will have a bloody fit about it, cullen more so. we need to attempt to stay somewhat fucking civil. if there’s an issue within the ranks, BRING IT TO ME, don’t solve it with your fist. ❞ he could hardly believe that had been him talking just then.

a quick sip would wet his dry throat, and soon the drink was gone -- arm raised, ordering another without so much as a glance toward the bar.

             Hissera heaved a dramatic sigh. Out of all the things this man could complain about that was the one he chose? “Oh I do suppose you could let the world descend into demons and madness if you like. Won’t change much on my end though, I’ll still be here.“

              Okay so the snark was a bit rude but she couldn’t help it. She was here helping the injured and dying and here he was whining about having no choice. There was always a choice. Her father made that very clear to her from a young age. Scratching at the base of her horn she gave him a wane smile.

           “I don’t imagine we will have much more time if you do though; better have some fun while you can dear.“

[ ✗ ] —┊  at least she wasn’t some whelp too afraid to speak her mind; he could respect that, minimally, at the very least. he was used to the LORD bullshit, oh herald my herald, the grace himself -- in truth, a beast of the burden, meant to carry a mark and close a gash in the sky that could be mended no other way. there was no CHOICE in this. ❝ i was given no option, this was burnt into      my flesh, and i feel it every time the rifts      in the sky seal and the demons return to      where they came. fun -- F U N; there is no      fun, either way. drink myself into a ditch,      die miserably, burn to ash, let the demons      rule us -- i suppose i HAVE a choice, just      none i’m particularly FOND OF. ❞

She kneels only a moment longer to center herself and focus once more; he’s right, they are not done here. This is not the time to relax or get sloppy. Sloppy results in injuries, death even - such cannot be risked. “I’m fine, I’m ready.”

[ ✗ ] —┊  a quick glance to the woman; he’d give her no slack, she was no different than anyone that would fight at his side -- he would push, until she broke, or powered through. ❝ fight like you’ve got everything to lose. ❞          she did. they all did. three archers, a dual wielder, a mage and a brute of a man with a shield bigger than declan himself. ❝ focus all you have on the mage, those fire lashings burn like none other. i’ll keep their attention; ❞

a loud roar and a bash of his own shield kept their attacks centered.
