honestly this was always more of a public kind of tumblr anyway. it’s very strange to Post and not think about character limits. do i even know how to Post not in tweet format?
to anyone who was already following this, a quick catchup: - living in vancouver - working on call of duty - writing a book - designing some games - making open source software - generally shitposting a lot - also bird photography
anyone coming over from twitter: - sorry
the world sure has changed

Just test-drove this 2007 C6 Corvette. 42k miles, $27,000. 6 speed manual. I'm not in love, but I'm definitely in lust.

Animal Farm
I'm stuck looking after a friend's dogs while they're overseas and they did not play well with Pencil. I had to build a cat fort so she could escape their harrassment. Now, four weeks later here they are, united by common goals: food, and sitting around doing nothing.
I don't mean to alarm anyone but I may have just had my best League game ever.
Pencil does cat things. Mew.
Photoshopped History Of The Day: This image was originally entitled 'two women share a moment at a beatles concert' but I couldn't help looking at the girl in the front of the frame. It reminded me of something, so I busted out Photoshop, and five minutes later here we are.
GoPros at the track
People are complaining about the use of suction-mounted GoPros at the moment. I'm going to venture an unpopular opinion.
If you use a decent-sized, decent-quality suction mount this cannot happen.
GoPros aren't big. It's physically not possible for a properly mounted, appropriately sized suction mount put on an appropriate surface to come off. It's just physics, the wind resistance just simply doesn't have enough force to rip it off. I've tested this so many times, including tying a rope to the GP and pulling on it as hard as I can, which produces much more force than a GP ever could.
Let's assume the worst drag co-efficient - 1.05 for a square object. Air density, 1.29kg/m^3. Speed of 160mph so 71.5m/s.
GP Hero3+ is 41x59mm so let's make it worst and account for mount, make it 60mm x 60mm. So area is 0.0036m^2.
FAir = A/2 × Cd × D × v2 FAir = 0.0036/2 * 1.05 * 1.29 * 71.5^2 FAir = 0.0018 * 1.05 * 1.29 * 5112.25 FAir = 12.46N
.. which is a whopping 1.2kg.
If you use a shitty suction mount and/or mount it to a stupid place on the car or bike without a good attach surface, and/or don't wet the base before doing it, this is absolutely going to happen. If your mount can't take 1.2kg then you have done something horribly wrong.
(all that said, i still use secondary tethers to a fixed point because i'm careful like that)
Meet Stay!
It's been 12 months in the making but I can finally reveal what I've been working on all year.
Mount your phone, clean your camera, hang a picture - do whatever! With Stay!, anything is possible. Well, almost. Please don't eat it (although you could if you want, it's non-toxic).
