Hello. Most of you know me as Nate on this platform. I am a trans artist from Russia.
LGBTQIA+ as a whole has been made illegal in late 2023 and a part of the extremist party in the eyes of Russian government this past May. Whilst I was lucky enough to transition back in 2021 and had no feasible problems with social transition - this whole debacle made it impossible for me to get top surgery in my own city, since all professionals either closed for business after being discovered as being trans-friendly or moved.
It's not a cheap procedure, especially after adding travel to the bank - but I've been saving, even after being jobless and disabled.
For now, on my own, I have $450 saved up. That's 32K rub with today's conversion. Since that tends to fluctuate - at times it's less. I am still saving up on my own accord and won't stop, even with all other medical expenses.
To pay for everything (travel to Moscow and back; labs and possible hospital stay, and post-op care) I'd need an amount close to $2500 - $3000. None of the things I'd need will be covered by my medical insurance, so I have to be prepared.
It's not an urgent call for help, but, since it's the middle of the Pride Month - I thought I'd cast my net.
I hope to save up this amount in the next six months to a year.
