What’s the dish on the Martin Freeman/ Gervais “falling out”? I’m not enough of a fan of either to have ever heard the story.
I don’t think they did. really. I don’t think they were ever particularly friendly.
Ha that Sun thing sounds like a new crew worker who expected them to be BFFs or something. They've always said they don't hang out off of the show. Freeman is known for not hanging with cast-mates--tbh I think it goes back to his big falling out with Gervais--but that's not a bad policy if you're on a show that's going to run for awhile. Cast conflicts caused by personal life stuff has screwed a lot of shows over.
To me... people saying it was the end - It wasn't. They don't want to END the series, they want to come back when they want to - meaning there will be more Sherlock one day, but they don't want people expecting it every year or nagging them about WHEN WILL SEASON 5 BE ON. They don't want the responsability, but also can't be open about it and give it a proper end. So one day they can make as "a favor" and shoot more episodes and we'll be expecting nothing... it's quite clever but disrespectful

Who said Sophie was trying to land a role? I'm pretty certain if she WANTED one they'd give her one. I've seen no indication that she wanted one or that she even asked.
Do you think? I don't know. I don't think she has much interest in acting but then again, she did the car commercials and LL so probably still enjoys performing.
