The street.
josephdimargo:
“As a man f medicene i would say keep warm and safe, but as a true romantic, I suggest love. I feel love keeps the illness at bay.” Joesph bowed to the beautiful woman “ Providing you look as beautiful as you today my lady, I am a doing my job well.” He smiled at her and put out his arm. “ may I take you to your destination? After all, it is my job to keep the family of Albizzi safe.” His gaze was soft and gentle and his voice kind like any doctor would be.
- “ Then may God help those of us whom have not experienced such a feeling and I shall pray that familial love is enough to ward off the plague. ” A nod of appreciation accompanied a gentle smile, Giulia’s gentle hand raising to took into the elbow of the doctor before her feet shifted to turn and silently suggest a change of direction. “ Actually it is you whom I wished to seek. You see I am patron of a public bathhouse for women and children, where they may bathe and play without fear and in peace, alas one woman has brought it to my attention that her son is quite unwell and I wished to ask if you would see to him... You would be paid for your time, of course. ”
maidenveronica:
Veronica’s mouth lifted up in a smile as if to say ‘Of course they have not found a way to fix it’. Lifting her cup to her mouth, she pauses for a moment before stating, “ I daresay that tower will never stand straight. It is intriguing that it has not toppled to the ground yet. ” She raised a brow, “ I should love to come with you on your next adventure, but you know as well as I that I am not in control of that. — where would you like to go next, if you could go anywhere? ”
- “ Of course not, the ground is impossible and their desire to rise above our very own bell tower is too optimistic even for God. Though it is entertaining to see the efforts they go to in a bid to try to amend their errors. ” A cup was cradled between delicate hands as if it radiated a calming temperature, soothing the rushing mind of Giulia to the point where she might just sleep soundly afterward. “ If you will it so I will speak with my padre, he cannot say no if I will it so and I shall if you desire. In truth? Somewhere far off, exotic perhaps, but quiet would be most desirable. ...Sometimes, Veronica, I fear you are my only friend in all of Florence. Never leave me... ”

‘ - RINALDI had forgone all attempts to preserve a serious mien, from the moment her proposal clinked in the air like a spoon against glass. He smiled with lips partly open, as if they still sought for words. But proper responses were always an onerous matter as far as Giulia was concerned - nothing but satisfaction appeased her, and he would rarely use anything more authoritative than a glance in order to curtail her pleas. Even to drip admonition into his expression cost him more self-possession than it did to simply give in. Besides, it was not as though she were yearning for anything out of place. Did her curiosity not add to the gilded borders which framed their name? Did her curiosity not always end in usefulness? “So fortunate our happiness is entwined then, no, mia cara? And convenient, too.”
- “ Our happiness is always entwined, padre. I know that the Signoria will resume soon, new members move their belongings into the Palazzo as we speak, should we not be assured that the conditions in which they reside are satisfactory enough to serve our beloved republic well? ” Giulia degli Albizzi was an image of grace and innocent, a face worthy of Venus herself, and yet the blood which sustained her was entirely that of an Albizzi and of her father at that. She was not cruel or vindictive, nor was she overly calculated, but she was careful and held no reservations against overreaching if something she desired was in sight. Daughters were not as valuable as sons and one day she must relinquish the Albizzi name for that of a husband’s, but why should she not use her meek and mild appearance to her family’s benefit in the meantime? “ Surely a father could not be begrudged for showing his daughter the public office which her children may sit upon one day whilst the Signoria is not in session? Or merely to allow the sons of Florence a glimpse of what they are not worthy of. ”
giovanni-albizzi:
“And you, sister mine,” Giovanni didn’t skip a beat, grinning beatifically at his sibling as though he hadn’t spent the night previous just short of bringing down the roof with rampant fornication, “would you subject the people of Florence to the possibility of having their eyes put out by my freely-roaming manhood unconfined by codpiece?” He was joking, naturally, chuckling in good humor and quickly side-stepping around a few tables to greet her with a companionable kiss on the cheek and the tuck of her arm under his for escort. “I never could deny you, Giulia, not even when I’m hung over. If you wish to stroll to the piazza, of course I’ll accompany you. And slay any man who looks at you where he stands.”
- “ Good god, if you not my brother I would keep my distance from a man in your state. ” A thin nose wrinkled in mock disgust whilst a smile curved her lips and betrayed Giulia, leaning to kiss her brother’s cheek in return in spite of the strong smell of wine and god knows what other beverages hanging in the air. “ If you go out with the intention of slaying a man then may I suggest you finish dressing? I imagine the freedom is liberating but do think of your poor sister and the blush which would consume her if you were to be exposed before all of Florence. The new members of the Signoria take up residence this day, should we not leave our greatest impression? I would rather that did not involve you poking anyone’s eye out. ”
i can say that i can change the world but if you let me i can make another world for us. let me suffer all for you. make this vision all brand new. we can fight them. i can say that i can win it all, come with me and i will make my word stand tall. let me do this.

It had been a long day and Joseph had just walked out of the apothecary when he collided with someone, quick to hide his purchases, he slipped them into his bag and then looked up “Scusa.” He said apologetically. “ A lot on my mind, I have to keep people well and I do not like to see others suffer,” Joseph said with a small sigh. “Winter is coming and I want to make sure no ill is spread through the city.”
- “ Sickness during summer, sickness during winter... It seems a medic’s job never ceases to be of importance, you chose your path well Signore. ” Giulia greeted the familiar physician with a polite smile before her head tilted momentarily out of curiosity, attempting a glance at the purchases the man had been making. “ I might ask what we might do to prevent such a thing but who am I to assume a physician’s position? ”

vincenzoalbizzi:
Vincenzo was sitting in the tavern drinking and watching the world go by around him, he was tired from helping the trainee knights all day. A job, which wasn’t for him, but kept his brother from telling him to do something instead of drinking his life away. He slid his foot off a stool and kicked it out from under the table.“ Take a seat. you seem like you have troubles. I am a man of sin, so nothing you say could shock me.” He chuckled and looked at the person in front of him.
“Then we toast to health, wealth and having a lover to oneself.” He said with a small smile. “I would toast to the lord but I fear he wont hear me, I am a man of so many sins even Lucifer himself would not want me.” He admitted sardonically. “enough of my woes. Tell me of your day.” Vincenzo enquired and played with his jug. “ I pray yours was better then mine.”
- “ Why do you assume troubles must be sinful? I fear that may be a reflection upon yourself more than I, uncle. ” With a brief glance to the stool kicked her way, knowing that women outside of those ‘emplaoyed’ within a tavern were usually unwelcome but she chose to sit anyway. She at least had the hope that her uncle was not so deep into his cups that he would not be able to stand for her if needs be.
“ To what must we blame for your day being so unspeakable? My day was spent observing those serving upon the Signoria as they move into their ivory tower, it was dreadfully hot in the piazza but I fear that may have been the excess of egotistical men suffocating the air. Won't you tell me what led you here and to such self-deprecating? ”
it has been a strange evening so i didn’t manage as many replies as i would have liked buuuut i will be back tomorrow after work to write some more, please feel free to message me for plots or yelling! my dis.cord is beezybee#4174 and that’s probably the best place to catch me <3
maidenveronica:
“ come now, don’t be a slouch! ” she comment, pouring another glass of wine for herself and guilia. “ one more glass of wine will not hurt either of us. i daresay that more wine is consumed by the men of this household than anyone else. ” which was most likely true, at least in her opinion. “ you must tell me about your most recent travels, i want to hear every last story. ”
@deglialbizzi
- Very few ever spoke so plainly with Giulia, in fact very few treated Giulia as though they would treat a friend, but she could always rely on Veronica to give her a sense of normality; well, what was considered normality in their world. “ I cannot say there is a great deal to tell, there was a brief visit to Pisa and they have still not found a way to make their bell tower stand straight it is a most amusing sight. You must accompany me next time, Veronica! I cannot bear to part from you for so long. Or at all. ”
giovanni-albizzi:
Giovanni wasn’t normally found in taverns. Mostly because he did a damn good job of cavorting in upstairs rooms with pretty barmaids instead of hanging about downstairs. And in truth, last night he’d done the same. Come morning light and the wearing off of however much wine and ale was drunk he blearily ambled his way through the more quiet, sedate atmosphere of the establishment in daytime, looking about curiously under tables and stools and not caring what of the respectable clientele he offended in doing so. “Pardon me,” he muttered, glancing between a pair of feet whose owner he hadn’t bothered to study. “I left my damned codpiece somewhere and can’t seem to find it. Hard to have them made to fit and the saucepot I spent the evening with is still in no condition to be of assistance in recalling where it might have been tossed. Much like herself, really.”
- “ ‘Tis such an early hour and yet the images provided demand shrift at the earliest convenience. ” In a stark contrast to their surroundings, Giulia stood as an image of casual grace with a brow raised at her dear brother’s hungover state. In spite of the fact that it was her first time stepping foot inside a tavern, she stood firm, turning at the noise of an unknown man seemingly in the same state a Giovanni to whom she offered a brief ‘buongiorno, messer,’ before her attention was returned her temporarily delicate older brother. “ I wish to venture to the piazza della Signoria and naturally I cannot go alone, however, I do have a maid outside the door if you would see you beloved sister wander alone through this peaceful city of ours... ”
albizzir:
‘ - THE NOBLEMAN bit down on shapeless words, his eyes seizing the other like an impetus, willing them to speak. His hand curled over his own impatience and clamped down. From his chair on the rostrum, Rinaldi could all but spring up, matters yet undealt with pulling at him as if he had strings affixed to his joints. “You utter sense”, he yielded, though more out of clemency than any admission of mistake on his part, “but I still do not know what you seek.”
- “ I heartily seek your happiness above all things, padre. ” The Lord himself could have sent down one of his angels in a blinding light, wings spread wide to strike anyone whom glanced their way in complete awe, and yet they would still not have the ability to outshine the apparent innocence of Giulia degli Albizzi’s smile. Hands were tucked together behind her back in a stance contrasting her usual lady-like manner but making her the image of a young girl, standing before her father with clear intentions of wanting something from him. “ I wonder if the happiness of your beloved daughter might be something which would lift your spirits... In which case I would suggest that perhaps a brief jaunt inside of the Palazzo della Signoria might cure both of our ills? ”
