Greetings!

So, the long journey of searching has finally reached its destination.

Allow me to introduce myself.

Hi, I'm Starly Galaxy .... not my real name, of course, just my writer's name.

I've always been interested in art in its many forms. I enjoy creating the kind of content I wish existed and contributing to the fandoms I love. My interests change over the years, but some stories, ideas, and worlds never really leave me.

I tend to have two very different creative sides, and both are equally serious about whatever project they decide to obsess over. That naturally influences both my writing process and my artwork.

After spending years learning, I eventually returned with a new obsession: writing fanfiction.

Some might say it's a waste of potential to pour so much effort into fiction. I see it differently.

There's a strange paradox in creating. Do you create only to please others and slowly lose yourself in the process? Or do you create what you genuinely love, lose some people along the way, but find the ones who truly connect with your work?

For me, that question was answered in 2025.

To start writing and drawing again, I decided to let go of some unhealthy habits and simply create.

So here I am.

there's one particular mischaracterization of diluc that genuinely infuriates me and that's when people say he doesn't know love.

all he has ever known is love. how to love, how to give it, how to feel it.

the issue lies in the fact that he didn't know when to stop. even if he understands now, he still can't do it because he doesn't know how to.

i think his heart didn't know how to compartmentalize. he gave the whole of it away to everyone he loved because of it.

he saved everyone and everything he had ever loved in one space. as a kid, his heart probably thought that everyone was getting a bigger space, not about how messy it had gotten.

and, honestly, i still think he struggles to give only what is needed. he just has a better poker face now to hide it.

everything he has ever felt — not just love — is in abundance. he just didn't have a big enough container to hold that big of an amount of one thing, let alone everything.

love is something he can't draw a boundary for.

that's why his actions — his reactions — make so much sense to me. i'm not saying that he's right in what he did, neither am i making any excuses, but his actions are so in line with what i understood his character to be that they feel so natural. so him.

diluc's problem isn't that he can't love, no. the problem is that he loves way too much. so much that he can't help but let it dictate — or at least influence — every other emotion that he feels.

i think his name backs it up perfectly, too. no one in the world has the power to stop the daybreak; it spills over to bask everything in its way in light and warmth regardless of whether they are needed or not — not even itself.

Kaeya never really addresses what he's been through for quite a simple reason: he was not an emergency. he wasn't a shriek, he wasn't loud, or passionate, or taking much space with his grief to be noticed and pampered around.

he wasn't the hurricane. just a drizzle.

just a fine mist, reflecting the droplets into the rainbow, scattering around small sun rabbits, all while evaporating from the face of the Teyvat. as simple as that.

Diluc was the emergency.

when he had fallen and scraped his knees, Adelinde could hear his shriek from afar, readying the kit and gauze, sighing and shaking her head. when he had failed something, Crepus could understand it from the loud stomping and creaking floorboards, long before the words were even uttered. when he was unfairly treated by adults, Kaeya was aware of it from single angry line, sharpening Diluc's face into the grimace.

loud. proud. confident.

the thing is... Diluc was Kaeya's emergency, too.

when Kaeya had fallen from the tree and broken his leg, Kaeya was quiet, and Diluc was wailing, scaring half of the staff to death. when Kaeya was bullied by the kids and teachers, Kaeya listened as if indifferent, but Diluc was angry and was loud and demanding. when Kaeya was sick and his fever made him delirious, he stayed in bed unmoving, yet Diluc aroused the manor by his running and bumping into things.

Kaeya never learned how to be an emergency.

when Diluc left for the country he never knew, but already hated, Kaeya knew that it was an emergency of another kind; a shriek of despair; the loud crack of the bones; low, dangerous growling, setting alarms haywire.

when Diluc left, Kaeya slowly shifted to never a problem.

never an emergency, never a shriek, never a loud one.

passerby, at the very least. no worries could bother him the type. smooth as ever, smile to cover, icy shield to protect. never hurt enough to set the room flying in horror, never depressed enough to get people worrying, never charming enough to see someone staying glued to his side.

so, when he lost Crepus (his father, the paper says), he visited the grave alone. when he lost his brother to the rage, he never complained, he never told anyone how fragile he was, holding the golden casing with pulsing Pyro in his hands and breathing shallow, afraid it's destined to go out. when his mind screamed at him, he masked the voices with wine and the bard's song. when his hand held the tiny line, ready to snap in half and be finished, he covered it and went to work the next morning.

he isn't an emergency. never was, never will be.

but oh, how he dreamed that one day, there will be no need to be one.

(Diluc returns, and Kaeya learns how to be the emergency for him. Snezhnaya destroyed his brother to the core, but Kaeya refuses to give up. he never learns how to be the emergency others need to look at before he's too close to cross the drawn line of sirens, going silent. Diluc thinks, bitterly, that he should've noticed first.)

When I lived in London there was a murder of crows that lived near me. I fed them often, they brought me presents (shiny rubbish and cigarette butts they found on the floor to thank me.)

When I moved, I’m certain they understood I was leaving because I had all my stuff and gave them lots of food and compliments.

But, they chased down my friend who lived in the next burrough over. They had recognised that friend with me several times and followed them to their house when they couldn’t find me.

They adopted my friend and it was now my friend’s job to bring them snacks and receive the presents.

This was maybe 6-7 years ago.

I visited London last year. Went to see my friend. The crows all not only recognised me, they tracked me down. We got into my friend’s flat and not twenty minutes later there was chaos on the balcony.

We open the curtains, the entire fucking murder is there shouting because they wanted to see me.

Crows are the very best birds.

One thing that pisses me off is that we have eroch, who started these purple experiments (AMONGST OTHER THINGS) abd he was rightfully expelled, right?

On the other hand, we have lohen , who RESTARTED these experiments, indirectly got his mentor killed....and his only punishment was...not getting promoted?

Like am i reading this right? is this writing intentional to show how hyporcritical the knights can be, or is it just finding a way not to punish lohen severely because he's a playable character?

Varka, for starters, is the biggest hypocrite and willingly stupid guy in Mondstadt. The game reallly wants to make him just a funny guy but he's smarter than he lets on and turns a blind eye when someone he likes hurts his knights as long as they're left alive by the end of the day.

So for Eroch (and exactly why I genuinely put blame on Crepus' death for Eroch AND Varka AND Crepus himself) Varka saw this guy who was spiraling and getting worse. Everybody noticed. Here's some reciepts.

"Gebhard: And he never spared the manpower for something unless he'd get credit in return. No glory in something? You'd get scraps. Same breed as that scumbag Eroch.

Hedwig: Driven by a strong desire for wealth and power, he was corrupted and led astray — quietly involving himself in all sorts of unsavory schemes. His intelligence and skill at arms only compounded the danger he posed.

Diluc: "Warped obsessions and the passage of time can turn friends into foes as easily as the wind changes its course." 

Varka: ...Quoting Crepus, are we? That really takes me back.""

If it were say, simply Gebhard or Hedwig then MAYBE I'd understand, but Crepus was Varka's closest companion alongside Eroch, he would know Eroch better than anyone else besides maybe Dottore. But Varka? He ignores Crepus' words and chooses to act like nothing is wrong.

Of course, we all know how that went. Crepus dies, Eroch is exiled from Mondstadt, Varka then (presumably) gets some knights to charge Eroch and the Fatui and they all do Ursa steroids and Eroch dies. So, what does Varka learn from this?

Well, certainly as much as Adorno did, that is to say, nothing. Lohen is Lohen (that is to say, Eroch lite) and Adorno decides to make him Varka's problem. Of course, Varka doesn't care and hires Lohen and decides he just HAS to bring the guy who tried to drug him on his expedition. Lohen returns, we get some lore drops and do his quest, poo.

So, after Lohen and Theodore decide to play around with the experiments left behind by Eroch, Lohen decides that just resembling Eroch isn't enough and he's gotta get power. Theodore is a bit more noble but he's also an idiot and doesn't get that angel power MIGHT make the dying old man die faster.

Ofc, Varka decides that the logical thing to do is give Lohen another chance and let him do whatever he wants which lets him and Theodore kidnap Adorno and drag him to the lab. Lohen finally smarts up and you know the rest, Adorno dies and Varka decides that grounding is an appropriate punishment for the two guys copying his insane dead friend.

TLDR: Everything that happened to literally everybody in the knights because of Eroch is Varka's fault
