What was something significant that happened around this time last year and how do you feel about it now?
For some reason I screenshotted this song at 7:42 pm. So now I'm listening to the album from which it came...
10/10 highly recommend!
Nobody wants to admit ageism is a real thing but if you like look around at how (capitalist) society treats the elderly it’s kind of insane actually. Especially if you take into account intersections of misogyny and racism & how nearly all of them are disabled in some way. Some ostensibly progressive white kid will be talking about “ugh I hate old people” cause they think they’re all bigots or whatever but you gotta stop projecting your issues with, like, uncle dale being weird at thanksgiving dinner. Yknow. Old people are just people who got older
Like as an Angry Youth myself I get the frustration with older people as authority figures and whatnot but your average senior joe isn’t an out of touch politician or whatever. And I think we should all take the time to examine our attitudes towards, for example, the skills of older women. Do you value textile art as much as other more male-dominated crafts? Why not? & do you get pissy about having to walk slower for someone else & how does this reflect your views on disability? And so on and so forth. Yknow. Blah. Grandma solidarity I’m not joking
& honestly like for every old person getting their brain melted by fox news there are just as many young people being fed the same reactionary slop by the tiktok algorithm and shit. Being young doesn’t make you progressive you still have to Think. There are people who were fighting for civil rights in the 60s and 70s. Learning from people who came before you is how we advance anything, actually
I'm fascinated by the way scientists interact with religion. On one hand you have Sir David Attenborough, who said "I tend to think instead of a parasitic worm that is boring through the eye of a boy sitting on the bank of a river in West Africa, [a worm] that's going to make him blind. And [I ask them], 'Are you telling me that the God you believe in, who you also say is an all-merciful God, who cares for each one of us individually, are you saying that God created this worm that can live in no other way than in an innocent child's eyeball? Because that doesn't seem to me to coincide with a God who's full of mercy". On the other hand, you have JBS Haldane who remarked "the Creator must be inordinately fond of beetles: the earth is home to some 30 million different species of them." I appreciate the diversity
am I sick from anxiety or am I actually physically ill? a memoir by me
am i lazy or horribly depressed: the sequel
does everyone hate me or am I just very insecure: the completion of the trilogy
Is that a threat?!?
It feels good to be back on Tumblr even though I forgot how to Tumblr. I feel like I'm in my teenage happy place.

What type of person reads glamour magazine? Who is their target audience?? Does anyone subscribe to magazines like this anymore???
I'm a deeply passionate person. So much so that if I even think about having a passionless job it sucks the will out of me. But I need to understand that I don't always have to be deeply passionate about a job in order to support myself financially.
I got banned from Twitter for being a little to mean to a brand. And you know what, I don't care! Muskrat can kiss my ass and miss me with that bullshit 🔥🖕🏿🙂🖕🏿🔥
“Almost every woman I have ever met has a secret belief that she is just on the edge of madness, that there is some deep, crazy part within her, that she must be on guard constantly against ‘losing control’ — of her temper, of her appetite, of her sexuality, of her feelings, of her ambition, of her secret fantasies, of her mind.”
― Elana Dykewomon, Sinister Wisdom 36: Surviving Psychiatric Assault & Creating Emotional Well-Being in Our Communities
Women are held to such high standards. We just want to exist as ourselves without judgement.
