How do you deal with pain and loss? I lost my father two months ago and I still don't know how to deal with it, it's this emptiness I can't get rid of and i don't know why, I wasn't that even close to my father to feel like this still..
What do I do? Well, I realize that pain and loss takes time to process. I utilize all of my resources including my family, friends, religious counsel and any other resource.
I draw upon my own faith, my own learning and my own study. I use my routines. I found when I lost my parents that going through my ordinary daily routines helped me keep my life in focus.
I also found that helping others helped me. I reached out to my sisters who were suffering even worse it seemed than myself and in comforting them was myself comforted.
Time healed me. What seemed unthinkable, life without my parents. my mom was living with me when she passed, gradually became more real. I could think of them without tears, then with joy.
This helped me. I offer such blessings as are mine to give in this your time of sorrow. Your friend,
Sam.
