Hi everyone!!! Today I want to talk about a game I'm obsessed with. And specifically, a particular character in this game. English isn't my native language, so I apologize for any grammatical errors!
Wan2talk is a visual novel-style chat simulation game set in the 2000s, about a group of people who come together due to their love/interest with paranormal events and exploring abandoned places. That was a very short introduction, but I swear the game is SO GOOD and has 4 different love interests!! And the best part is, the game gets spookier with every update, hehe.
I love all of the love interests btw: Genesis, Lottie, Cain and Silas. And no shade but when I first played the game, Cain was like my least fav love interest. In my eyes, he was just an edgy dude who made up conspiracy theories. But the thing is, I love "flawed" characters. We humans are so flawed in many ways. And I love seeing this truth reflected in fictional characters, too. In this game, no one is perfect and everyone has their own problems. So i decided to give him a chance bc i gave all the love interests a chance!!
The thing about Cain is that, he might seem like a schizoposter and shit HOWEVER he actually means them and speaks from experience. He is weird, asocial and straightforward, sometimes his words might be hurtful. On the other hand, he's quite easy to talk to and sincere in what he says. He says everything as it is. I can see that he's troubled and struggling with many problems, but I really enjoyed talking to him in private chat, and at the festival, when the player goes to the museum. Overall, spending time with him was nice.
I don't believe I'll completely change him, and because this game is a slowburn (and the MC I'm playing is male), I know I'll continue to have problems with Cain for a long time. Still, he's not as tough and rude as he seems, he's just scared. And that's why Cain has a certain charm, BUT he's definitely not for everyone, though I still believe he deserves a chance.
Now, let me get to the main reason I'm writing this. While playing the game again today, I finally managed to get into the fortune teller's tent at the festival WITH Cain. I have no idea how I even got to the option of convincing him, by the way LMAO. ANYWAYS just look at this:
Like WTFFF dude and after that he started to panic like he "got caught" or something. I'm really bad at explaining things sorry about that... I don't know much about Christianity and the Bible. However, thanks to the internet, I know a few things, and the name Cain and the mention of two people during the fortune telling session struck me as odd. Check this out from Genesis 4, "Cain and Abel"
Since Cain is a character with many religious undertones, I think there might be a connection to this story. While my knowledge of Christianity is very limited and I still have many questions, I'm curious to hear your opinions as well.
I apologize for talking too much and not getting to the point, unfortunately I don't have a friend I can talk to about this game. I hope you enjoyed reading it!!! Let me know what you think, have a good day!!!
