first i wanna thank you for pointing out that thereās no link to the discord anymore, i hadnāt even realized that when we changed the pin, the perma link was also lost. that's on us and i totally get why that's annoying, but i do think your assessment of the situation is completely unfair.
the zine project was kept as small as possible on purpose because we didnāt have a lot of experience in organizing and even then, it was a nightmare to get everything done. at any point, you could have asked about joining a project, or interacted with the tweet we made SPECIFICALLY looking for people who wanted to contribute to the zine. sorry you felt excluded, that wasnāt our intention, but opening that project up to the public would have 1 invited bad faith actors and 2 made organizing even harder than it was.
i also want to address the idea that we āgot actual jobs in esports and closed the door behind usā because thatās simply untrue. the ONLY person who got an āactual job in esportsā was angi. arsh does all of the interviews for free. andrea maintains the lcsprofiles website for free. all of the art and projects created are done for free. even the commissions people have done for orgs are just that: commissions. NONE of us work for orgs and itās insane to accuse us of getting esports jobs when multiple people have been trying in vain for YEARS to get a job in esports and have eventually just given up. we were never in a position to get jobs in esports let alone "shut the door" on anyone else.
personally i got harassed down on esports twitter and in private discords. i deleted all pictures of myself off of my twitter account for this reason and really donāt like interacting in public servers at all anymore. it seems kind of insane that weāre expected to constantly interact with the community when most of us have been actively harassed by said community. we didnāt get esports jobs and suddenly abandon the community, most of us are students and/or working and got busy or donāt want to interact with the community at large. i donāt know why you believe that youāre entitled to our participation in the community.
