one time in college i was in a creative writing class and this guy was holding up the critique with what i can only describe as like cinemasins dinging another student's writing. and at some point the professor said "the plot is the fork and the prose is the meal. you are critiquing the taste of the fork"

don't know how to put it but it seems that the idea of "infinity" used to be portrayed as this cosmic thing, vast celestial space and impossible expanse, but lately infinity is monotony. it's a hotel, an office, retail space, and hallways hallways hallways

Backrooms endless carpets, Control's offices twisting in the Oldest House and the Ashtray Maze of a hotel, Chainsaw Man did it with the Eternity Devil, Uzumaki's spiraling small town. but then again, Kubrick did this with the Overlook in The Shining, No Exit's eternity is a waiting room, The Yellow Wallpaper held entire worlds. it's neat
