why is christmastime consistently The Worst like every shitty event in my life has happened around this time and i thought maybe since i’m living on my own now and don’t have family issues to bring me down it’d be different and i could enjoy the holidays for once in my life but nope i just lost some really close friends over all this shitty drama and i’m just. i hate this i hate this i hate this 

i’m. probs not gonna be on here or on laurens much for a lil while if i can help it bc i really don’t need the reminders that i have like 3 friends total now or that half the fandom hates me like jesus christ some of these ppl i was close enough to that i was planning on making fuckin christmas gifts for them and now they’re just. gone over all this and i’ll probs never talk to them again and it fuckin figures that this would happen right at the time of year when i tend to need people the most lmao but. whatever. whatever!!!! i’ll have to get used to this happening all the time at some point anyways since it always happens

promises   &   vows made have fallen away in an instant ,   and now ,   even AFTER ,   alex can’t quite bring himself to regret it.   he SHOULD.   he should feel guilt ,   and he’s SURE it’ll come later ,   but for now he lays in bed with her ,   hélène ,   jack’s best friend ,   and feels no remorse for what they’ve just done.   (  regrets are a thing for people less sure of themselves ,   who have less to lose     –––––     alexander ,   who’s built himself from NOTHING and has everything to lose at every moment ,   can’t help but constantly leap into action ,   no thoughts to how it may HURT him or those he loves.  )             ❝   we shouldn’t’ve done this.   ❞             words are only MURMURED ,   half - hearted ,   their message cancelled out by the fact that he leans in to brush lips against hers once again immediately after saying it.   nobody needs to know ,   after all     –––––     and if no one knows ,   what is there to feel guilty about?

          NO LONGER DOES IT COME AS A SHOCK THAT HAMILTON IS FURIOUS WITH HER. head bowed over her own writings, less than his but more collected, burr tries wholeheartedly to ignore his voice. there is something about alexander that houses itself under her skin – with a snap, her eyes ignite and she looks up, teeth bared.   ❛  we have worthier pursuits.  ❜   never before has she interrupted hamilton – it seems she has taken even herself by surprise.

speech pauses at once ,   something that looks an awful lot like SHOCK taking its place for just a moment.          ❝   you interrupted me.   ❞          hint of disbelief colors his words ,    mixed with an even helping of ACCUSATION   ;   not only has she refused to see that he is right about this ,   but she has the gall to interrupt him while he’s trying to make her see the light!   it’s as if she doesn’t know how stubborn he can be.   the FLAME igniting his anger has not been extinguished by the interlude ,   though     –––––     if anything ,   it burns stronger ,   misplaced fury directed at burr rather than its proper target.         ❝   i’d almost be impressed ,   honestly ,   burr     –––––     didn’t think you had it in you to take such a STRONG STANCE as interrupting someone!   but i don’t see what pursuit could be worthier than this     –––––     the general gave you command ,   you! ,   while i’m still stuck here WRITING for the rest of eternity.   would he listen to you if you put a word in for me ,   burr?   tell me he would.   i came to be a SOLDIER,   not a glorified secretary!   ❞

she remains utterly shameless for the time being,    stretching across the bed with no    hint    of subtlety.    her gaze shifts from his face to the ends of her own hair,    twirling dark locks between her fingers absentmindedly.    her expression shifts into something more    coy.   ‘              and how often do you desire me  ?  ‘

❝   only for the ones who MERIT such poetry.   ❞          guilt has not yet set in     –––––     here ,   they seem to be in their OWN WORLD ,   things like lives   &   marriages left outside their little bubble the moment alexander takes his wedding ring off.   if she were anyone else   (  read :   if she were jack  )   he would write her real poetry ,   pages upon pages of pretty words to bring her joy     –––––     but that’s not how this relationship works.   he knows that ,   she knows that.

he seems to consider the question for a moment ,   calculations done in his mind before settling on an answer :      ❝   far more often than i SHOULD.   really ,   you’ve stolen part of my heart in such a short amount of time ,   and even when we’re apart i can’t stop thinking about you.   ❞        there’s no point in lies here ,   so every word rings TRUE ,   smile hinting at his lips as he gazes at her.
