Introducing Me

     Although I’m not some talented artist that can come up with a song that introduces me, I can write it out(I hope you caught that reference). My Name Is Della and I am 22 Years old. I am recently a Senior in college, who took a year off to do the Disney College Program. At first I applied because it covered an internship credit I needed for may Major for school, but I also applied because I needed a break to figure out myself and what I going to do.  

     First I should start out by saying I got denied the first time I applied for the program, but I applied one more time and this time I was prepared. I got my acceptance email a week after my interview. I never knew that once I accepted my role that my whole life would change. I went from being a full time student that worked part time, to being a part time student that worked full time for Disney. I never worked so much in my life. Even though I only took 2 classes each semester, I was working 50+ hours a week! I had no idea how I managed to get good grades while working so much. 

     Basically it was a year of lost sleep, but I don’t regret it. Even though I wanted to scream at work, I kept myself calm and never snapped at a guest. Being there for a year was a roller coaster of emotions. I met my best friend there and I lost a friend. I will never forget how I felt when I found out the news about my friends death. I remember everything that night and it still haunts me, but this tragedy in my life brought me closer to my best friend. 

     SO there is good and bad in that year but I’ve learned so much that the good out weighs the bad. The college program was a fresh start for me and I came out a better person from it.

1 year ago today I started my Disney College program. My program was originally only may16-Jan5 but I got accepted to stay until May 11. 5 days short of a year. And it's been one hell of a ride. I had an amazing program and I'm going to miss all the friends I made. ❤️
