The Convergence Quilt Continues Fabrics were sewn together Light blue to the Red Dark blue to Multi color and then....there cut into all these strips. But how is it all going to play out? Stay tuned to see.
The fun about a convergence quilt, is you really don't know how it will turn out. You might have an idea but, you won't know until it's done. I was inspired to revisit this type of quilt when someone complimented my Del-Lillian Art Quilt Purse. It was actually a convergence quilt top, I didn't know what to do with it so...I made a purse out of it! Here I have my four fabrics in place and ready for the next step.
I get the most joy from creating and working on a new project. I made a convergence quilt years ago and turned the quilt into a purse. When I started Del-Lillian's it began with making abstract quilts, the idea and challenge was to make something unusual, artistic, fun and lively, from what I had on hand. It began with mini quilts that could be used on the table (placemats) I love placemats! I like the idea of surrounding my family and friends with pieces of art. It also makes for great conversation The quilt above, is the first wall hanging I made with the same idea It also was my first Etsy Sale. I've gotten away from making my miniature artwork and truly miss it. I do enjoy working with traditional style blocks but, - this is really what I'm about. Quirky yes. I know not everyone is a fan - but that's okay. I don't need EVERYONE to be a fan. I wouldn't be able to keep up with the demand :) As I round out this year. Doing many traditional style quilts I am looking forward to the new year of Abstract Quilting at Del-Lillian,s.
