I just wanna say that your post (The one about doing good things to get to Heaven) really helped me. I've always wondered if my mind is only doing everything so that I'll go to Heaven someday, and not out of the goodness of my heart, but seeing your post really helped me feel better.
I've really been a lukewarm Christian all my life, and even just looking at your posts have really encouraged me to get back into reading my Bible. (Which I should really do after this)

I'm really glad to hear that my post has helped you with your doubts/questions. Sharing the Gospel is important and I'm glad to hear that that post had such a positive effect.
I really do encourage reading the Bible! It's really important to listen to God and hear what He wanted us to hear. I do have a small advice about reading the Bible: do so during prayer. Assuming you pray every day (which is important, as praying is us talking to God diretly (but don't be ashamed if you don't pray every day yet - we all start somewhere! I remember being a lukewarm Christian and missing out on prayer a LOT)), I would recommend reading after saying a prayer. It gives it a form of dialogue - you pray with a certain intention in mind and God responds through the Bible.

I'm a little embarrassed to admit it but I always forget to pray as a thank you. I usually pray for other intentions but being grateful for what I have is very important too! So my list is gonna be a bit of a long one (– ▽ –;)

Is doing good for the sake of going to Heaven a bad intention?
That was the question I asked myself the conversation about motives once came up and I just couldn't answer it for myself. Is it bad if, at times, the only motive I could bring myself to have to do good things was for my salvation?
So, a small existential crisis later, when I remembered that question after I had temporarily forgotten about it, I went to ask the priest at my school (which I definitely should've done earlier but oh well). And he said something that had kind of stuck with me.
He compared it to eating with the motive not to starve.
You eat because you need to eat to survive. The same way you need to do good for your soul to live eternally with God. It's so simple. So basic. You need to eat to live. You need to be good to be saved. After all, what is faith without works?
I'm saying this here in case someone needs this. Navigating the boundary between self-confidence and selfishness can be challenging, but this isn't one of those instances.
You want to go to Heaven. You want to be saved. It's not selfish. And doing things with the intent of achieving that goal isn't either.
I find it amusing that people often use the argument "Christianity is a cult!" to harass Christians
When it comes to cults, most people feel sympathy towards the people in it, as they're considered to have been brainwashed into it (taking an example from the way people talk about Scientology and its victims)
So when I see someone call Christianity a cult while actively harassing Christians, I already know it's just an excuse for their horrendous behaviour
