EVERYONE. AFTER 19 DAYS, I FINALLY GOT MESSAGES BACK ON THIS BLOG! I WILL BE USING THIS ONE NOW, AND NOT USING @delusional-dingusnum2 ! I WILL KEEP THAT BLOG THOUGH SINCE IT WAS USED A LOT.

No because I don't think we talk about this moment enough.

This obviously goes way beyond El just being upset about Max. She IS upset about Max but she is also upset and angry with Mike. I mean, why else would she side eye him and let out a huff/sigh before storming into her room?? And why else would they FOCUS on her doing that if it didn't mean something??

Mike also looks fed up with the situation. I mean look at him. This was after she stormed into her room.

And then when Will asked if the two had talked at all and Mike said "not much", he didn't even sound or look sad/hurt at all. He looked and sounded tired. Resigned even. He is clearly also fed up with the situation. He thought telling El he loved her would fix things and make it go back to the way it was, but it hasn't. He just seems confused and tired about what is happening with El.

I also don't even think he's connected the dots in his brain yet that El is upset with him because he hasn't figured out that El knows his monologue was bullshit. He's under the impression she's just upset about Max and what Brenner said and THAT is why he's confused about her not talking to him. He's like "we fixed things so why isn't she confiding in me??" Because Mike, you DIDN'T fix things. El KNOWS you lied during that monologue. And you know it too, buddy. She is pissed at you. That is why she is ignoring you.

I also think it's interesting how they never showed us Mike going after her or trying to get her to open up. They never showed us Mike trying to get El to communicate with him. It seems like she stopped talking to him and he was just like "I'm confused and a little annoyed but whatever." Instead of giving us cute and intimate Milkdud scenes after the monologue where they talk things through and try to further develop their relationship, the Duffers instead gave us another amazing and intimately shot Byler heart-to-heart and then THESE shots. The symbolism and foreshadowing is insane.

There is definitely a lot more to this monologue business than people (the GA and Milkdud shippers) thought. Their relationship wasn't magically fixed after the monologue. It's clear the monologue did more harm than good for their relationship. It didn't fix anything. Milkdud's relationship is gonna finish falling apart and then finally break next season. Mike was right...this doesn't seem like something they can come back from.

I think it's obvious Milkvan is bones and a breakup is coming early next season. Like anyone with even a little bit of media literacy can see that.

We all know how the Midleven season four reunion was paralleled to El and Hopper's reunion (here is a post with those parallels if by chance you haven't seen them yet). But I don't think I've ever seen anyone point out how the El and Hop reunion also parallels the season two Midleven reunion. (Sorry in advance for the crappy quality for the Midleven pics. This was the best I could find lmao).

I mean in season four, El thought Hopper was dead. But deep down she also "never stopped believing" he was alive. In season two, Mike thought El was dead for a year. But deep down he also "never gave up" on her being alive.

There is even the visual parallels of El and Hop walking through the door and then El and Mike looking shocked.

El and Mike walked slowly towards each other, taking the sight of each other in, before crashing into each other's arms...the same way El and Hop slowly walked towards each other, taking the sight each other in, before crashing into each other's arms. El even hugs Mike and Hopper the exact same way in these scenes (with her arms under their arms).

El and Hopper's reunion was paralleled to both Midleven reunions...idk I just think that is interesting 🤨

I see a lot if Microwaves say that El needs to be with Mike because the show is centered around Maple Syrup or because that’s how she has arcs ect.

So I ask;

What arc(s) has she ever had that she needed Mike to have it happen? Most, if not all of her arcs/character development is when she’s not with Mike. So why does she need Mike to progress forward? If anything, he’s holding her back, which I’m pretty sure he is.
