Photographer Matthew Brookes’ apartment in the historic-turned-trendy Parisian district of La Marais draws upon distant periods in creating a cosmopolitan home. The spacious apartment, stilled adorned with original features, is dominated by warm timber hues and contrasting blacks and whites, including a dynamic gallery wall exhibiting a collection of monochrome photographs. Playing to the apartment’s existing loft-like structure and history, Brookes has scoured flea markets uncovering and curating pieces with a past.
