“There’s always someone waiting to dethrone the ones at the top.” Jake said, shrugging one shoulder. “No matter what species.” They just seemed to like thinking it was humans that were particularly vulnerable to that.

“Pitting the humans in charge of this place against one another...” He repeated softly, seeming to ponder the idea. It was certainly a good plan alongside his own- the plan to lull one of these fools into a sense of safety and security so they claimed him and freed him of the collar. “Any other tips, hints, or tricks you think may be good to know?”

James was pressed against the back of his couch with a book between in one hand and a glass of wine between his fingers in the other.  His head tilted at the polite knock at his suite door before he called out. “Come in.” in a slow, soft voice as he flicked to the next page of his book. He’d requested some company for the night, which he had to admit he’d done though a rather vague “make hot and young” description in a phone call rather than walk the cells himself.  still, with the revelation that he was related to a certain vampire, he'd prefer not to wander the cells for the night for company. 

There was a beat of hesitation during which Gabriel stood before the door even after having been beckoned inside. Being at the whim of humans had never been his idea of a good time... But he knew that playing along may be his best chance at escape. So he steeled himself with a deep breath before he pushed the door open and slipped inside, letting it shut after himself. “I was told to come here.”

atlas didn’t have too many friends , of course his … diet didn’t usually permit such , & those who were supernatural were often not fond of making friends with a water creature . so the ones who decided to stick around , were ones he tried his best to hold onto . he was proud to be friends with a royal from hell . ‘ i don’t know … you know me —- – i don’t always think with my brain … ‘ giving a shy half smile , ‘ i just don’t see any other way out of here . ‘

No- Gabriel supposed he was right. The brain had never been Atlas’ go to thinking organ. He matched his friend’s smile before he shook his head and breathed out. “I fully intend to get out of here... and it may be through claiming, but I will be no one’s pet. The moment this color comes off...” An absolutely wicked grin stretched the length of his features. “...no one will be safe from me.”

Gabriel exhaled softly as he stood before the door, hesitating before he knocked. It was had been rare lately that he’d been summoned, so now he felt himself reluctant as he waited for a voice beyond to tell him to come in.

“I’ve managed to avoid them so far, to be honest.” He said, not knowing how quickly that would change, “But I’ve heard rumours the head of the family is getting on. Means power could be changing hands soon. Maybe someone could turn his kids against each other, have them fight for the leadership position, might distract them.”

He clicked his tongue momentarily before he tipped his head, seemingly thinking over what Jake had said. “That isn’t a terrible idea...” Pitting the Argint’s against each other certainly could prove to be fruitful. After all, human’s were always power hungry. It was a fact that Gabriel often depending on when making his deals with them. “Perhaps that could work...”

Jake couldn’t help scowling slightly, “Do I look like that big an idiot? I used my ears.” The werewolf shook his head a little. “Of course, trying to use those weaknesses can get fairly obvious and then when guards decide you’re the one to be watched it’s difficult to exploit it.”

Rather than reply to Jake’s initial question, Gabriel simply made a face before the corners of his mouth resumed their smirk. “Any weaknesses with the Argint’s that may be beneficial? That is assuming any of them have deemed you nice enough to grace their beds.”

“That’s fairly broad. What part of what I know about this place do you want to know about?” He asked, “I can tell you that every weakness I’ve found in that damn electric fence, they’ve been quick to fix.”

An amused look flickered across Gabriel’s features. “And how, exactly, did you discover these weaknesses? Because I have this hilarious image in my head of you ramming into the fence over and over again.”

“you let holy water get the better of you? and here i thought you were a stronger demon than that.” he said rather coldly, he had no sympathy for gabriel, as he knew the other didn’t have for him. “i have this weird feeling that you screwed that human over? played one too many games with them?” he asked, glad that they were no longer talking about him now - the more the talked about it the angrier he got.

“Sadly, even the strongest of us have our weaknesses. Holy water is a fairly common one.” Gabriel hummed, not seeming at all perturbed by Levi’s attempted dig. In fact, it even seemed to bring a bit of a smile to his features. “Now I think someone is projecting... I don’t recall mentioned anything about screwing a human or playing games with them, though, admittedly, it is something I would do.”

He’d been held up in his office for several hours looking over papers and other things related to his business. Damian had to pull himself away, and out of his office just to keep himself sane. He found himself wandering the island pulling loose his tie as he came upon the grounds where they kept the supernaturals. Even being this close made him angry, and also disgusted that these things were allowed to even be here. Though he would rather keep them locked up here than out loose in the world. 

Standing at the gates he watched as the pets wandered around during their free time when he felt someone watching him. “Are you going to stare or say something?”

Gabriel had never been particularly fond of the sunlight. It was harsh, far too bright, generally through into focus things that were better left blurred, obscured in shadows. However, now that he was only given an hour of sunlight a day, one measly hour in which he was free from the dank dungeons or the wandering hands of some human, he found he craved it. He craved the warmth against his borrowed skin, the way the sunlight fell across the grass and the high gates...

And he hated when that was infringed upon, which it often was. Mostly by humans, masters as they liked to be called, when they came to stare at the exotic creatures that they’d corralled here. His gaze caught on a particular human, one of the few in charge if he recalled correctly, as it stood staring around at the supernatural creatures enjoying the sun. “Isn’t it a golden rule of you humans?” Gabriel hummed, a smirk contorting his lips. “If you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all?”

Typically Ashton would have come back with a rather snarky comment, but when he turned around to look at the man who was speaking to him and noticed the collar around his own neck? Well, he figured he could at least be pleasant enough. “Hopefully that day will be soon enough, right?” Ashton shrugged his shoulders, his eyes moving the other for a moment before he let out a soft laugh, “Never expected them too here - makes the days go by a lot faster that way.” He grinned, “I’m Ashton.”

“I would say it’s a pleasure, but I’m afraid that would be a dreadful lie.” Gabriel managed, nodding vaguely before he followed the other’s gaze out into the distance. “I’m Gabriel... and yes, one can only hope that you’re correct, and that our days before freedom are numbered. How long have you been here, Ashton?”

Hayden stopped walking when he heard the name and chuckled. “You know, it’s funny. I knew someone named Gabriel once. You have his eyes actually, as weird as that sounds.” He couldn’t stop staring into this man’s eyes as he walked closer to him. “You’re him aren’t you? But how is that possible?”

“Being recognized by the eyes is a new one...” Gabriel admitted, letting out something that sounded similar to an amused laugh. “Though you would be correct. Different body, same... thing... inside.” His smile broadened immensely, showing off his teeth before it relaxed into a smirk. “You’ve changed quite a bit since the last time I saw you.”

a cliche. he rolled his eyes - hardly understanding, or caring what he meant by that. he had the right to be upset with his current situation. didn’t he? “whatever.” he huffed, gnawing down against his bottom lip a bit roughly as he stared at the demon. who seemed all too amused with where he’d ended up. much like everyone else on the island. “shut up,” he grounded out. “sex in exchange for your guys’ life hardly seemed like a bad deal.” when levi was sent out on missions the last few months or so - he’d been giving them an ultimatum that really couldn’t refuse. it wasn’t a bad thing, especially since they didn’t seem to mind the sex anyways. “not it’s your turn, go on - what the fuck did you do?”

Gabriel snorted- the half laugh came out harsh as he looked down at the younger male. “I was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.” He offered, his seemingly permanent smirk faltering for a moment before it settled back into place. “Some well placed holy water and an opportunistic human had me finding myself here, rather unfortunately.”

“you’ve got a point there. i wouldn’t, either.” is it hypocritical of austin to expect another to do something that he wouldn’t even do? probably. is it the only thing he’s got going for him at the moment? definitely. “holy water, huh? it was a circle of salt for me. fuckin’ humans.” by the time he’d realized that they’d trapped him, it was already too late. that’s not to say he didn’t give his captors hell anyway, though.

“Sadly, even greater beings must have their flaws- though I suppose it is made worse by the mundane nature of ours.” Gabriel remarked, tipping his head a bit before he exhaled. “I have no intention of being here longer than necessary... as the moment this collar comes off, either this body and I are leaving, or just me... but one way or another, I will be free from here eventually.”

“What can I say, I’ve had a long time to think about the possibilities. That one… that one seems the best.” The demon enjoying it so much should have scared him more than it did but he was angry. It had been a long time in here, the things you once held dear started to slip. And he’d been slipping too. “I think you’ll find me more than acceptable.”

“More than acceptable, hmn? Someone’s is confident.” Amusement flickered over his features before it disappeared and a stoic mask was once more in place. “Well, let’s start with what you know about this place, yes?”
