Redesigning my old characters: Day 3

Theme Song:

Today's star is Toothpick! This fun guy is my 0G. He was THE oc. He originated all the way back to middle school, so he's definitely got some lore. I'll post a speed paint explaining it later :p

I stayed very true to the source material because it's just great. And I actually added more spaces of color for him because, for once, the og felt a little bland. I changed the stitch blush patches [a sad day ik] simply because I feel like there's no explanation for it other than a stylistic decision.

Well that's kinda it honestly. More characters coming up tomorrow! See yah.

Today, we've got Danny Carson. I tried to go for "old man detective" vibes because of the red eyed cigarette smoking look he had. He looks like he has a story, but sadly, he does not. I might make one, who knows!

It seems that I used to have a habit of just using colors I liked rather than colors that actually mesh well with these characters lol. So, I once again toned down his color scheme

I'm having a lot of fun with this little personal challenge I've made! I'm gonna start among up the quality of these posts soon... stay tuned~

Redesigning my old characters: Day 1

I found my old characters so I'm going to go through and recreate them day by day!

Today we have Sketch, a shy little fellow. I felt their personality wasn't portrayed very well in the og so I tried to focus on it when posing them.

I love the og colors- they're so unique but i really just can't imagine this character with those colors. I think a more earthy [down to earth] color set will do them far better than that those pastels will.

An update, I suppose.

I'd like to apologize for some of my content on this fuckass page...

This is from like.... 2020? And a lot has changed in 4 years.

I'd delete it (still might) but it's like history, yknow. I feel like I'm doing some disservice if I remove it.

Anyway. . .

Don't expect regularly scheduled posts here. I've just been feeling pretty artsy lately, and I'm getting confident in my skills again and getting out of artblock.

I'm working on an animation with my favorite bbg Sade, (the girl with the demon I just posted) so I'm gonna throw that over here when it's done (it's nothing spectacular honestly it's my first animation lol). So that's something to look forward to!
