She was a bit nervous about the entire ordeal. As frustrating as it was, she still wasnāt a student that was known for being in trouble. That was far more for Sirius and James; and she was half curious over what they even did in these sort of meetings.Ā āThank youā¦ā Pandora found herself resorting to her usual manners as she smoothed her uniform before sitting down. The office was very much pleasant to her eye, and she couldnāt help but let her eye wander around the room. The woman certainly was much more preferrable to the professor she had insulted.Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā
Of all her classes, it seemed Defense Against the Dark Arts was one she held the most promise in. But, the professor didnāt seem to be fond of having anyone that wasnāt by-the-book. Odd, given she didnāt quite see danger ever following a book when it wanted to kill you.Ā āAh, yes, thank you, Professor.ā Pandora took a biscuit, her eyes staring at the cups and finding them quite enchanting.
āWe were reviewing curses and hexes today, and the Professor wanted each of us to remove a simple hex from a Quill. Everyone took some time to do it, but I saw there were knotted bits surrounding the Quill. I just used the spell he taught us to ease the knots and remove them, and when he asked how I did it so quicklyāI said I saw the hex.ā Pandora shrugged, saying it quite matter-of-factly. She wasnāt lying, and she wasnāt a student known for being troublesome.Ā
āI donāt see why he is so upset about it. Sirius can say he sees London, France and Lilyās undergarments but if I do my work properly I get scolded. Perhaps he just isnāt able to see it. I canāt be the only one, right?ā

Minerva had found that her reputation, crafted over several years by this point, was often enough to encourage the correct behaviour out of students, even those with a naturally rebellious streak tended to show respect and restraint around her. Pandora was not rebellious, academically speaking, thus she fell into the role quickly. āYouāre quite welcome.ā she said plainly, leaning back in her chair and reaching for her cigarette. Minerva, fixed one to her gold-coloured holder and barely rested her fingers against her wand as she soundlessly caused the tip to ignite in warm embers. Sheād trained herself to light her cigarettes that way, excellent practice for non-verbal magic with as little wand movement a possible.
By the time sheād finished the cups had floated over to the desk and landed neatly in front of them, not spilling a drop. āSugar and milk?ā Minerva asked, a single sugar and the barest drop of milk floating her cup before a spoon followed and swiftly stirred.
She took a small drag and turned her head to the side to exhale the smoke away from them as Pandora told her story, eyes narrowing just slightly as she went on. āMr. Black does have a proclivity for provocative wordplay.ā she said dryly, āHowever, he his not the focus of this conversation. Now, this sight, these āknotsā as you described them; have you ever witnessed anything akin to them before during your studied, Ms Patrum?ā she asked, watching carefully for any tell-tale signs of lying or half-truths.
āOr, is this the first time such a thing has happened over the course of your spell-craft?ā She knew Defence Against the Dark Arts always covered the theory before the practical but that didnāt mean Pandora hasnāt come across hexes in the past. Ā
