I’m only really posting this because

1) two artists I like have been harassed for genuinely no real reason, to the point of being in danger

2) I’m annoyed about being on a “puritan” blocklist on bluesky

3) I’ve shared “callout posts” on people in the past where the crux of those posts has been about what they ship or post [it was in the context of a specific fandom. But the less said about that the better] even if they had way more concerning accusations against them. But I digress once again

4) people have been flat out admitting to disrespecting another artist I like’s boundaries out of “spite”

5) my opinions on certain things have changed. I’ve not done a complete 180, but they’ve changed enough to the point where I wish to clarify things

So. To clarify, whilst I don’t align myself with any particular ship discourse labels, I would very much prefer it if people who post ships or artwork involving pedophilia, incest etc in a “romanticised” way (god awful word I know but I can’t think of an alternative right now sorry) or adults who draw sexual artwork or kids, regardless of whether they’re fictional or not, didn’t interact with me. But I’m also anti harassment. I don’t think warning other people to block someone for their own peace of mind or even private conversations counts as harassment. I mean telling people to harm themselves or calling them slurs etc. I also think block evading and vaguing someone, whilst not direct harassment, is really weird and unkind. And also ☝️ if you think fiction cannot ever impact reality or can’t be used as a tool to harm or groom someone then go away as well. But I know that showing something in fiction or being into something in a purely fictional scenario doesn’t always mean you endorse it irl

i see so many headcanons for smiling friends specifically pertaining to mental illness and trauma, especially with Pim. And I love it and I really like how deeply people think about it. But my headcanon for Pim basically extends to "I think he has depression and maybe C-PTSD but he's medicated and doing well for the most part" so I see all this really well drawn art that shows the dark and sad side of him and I'm in awe. Like fuuuck that's genius, why didn't I draw that

I think Charlie also has depression which mostly manifests as irritation and a pinch of sadness, but after dying and coming back to life he went to therapy and is also possibly medicated as well. Purrhaps

I put my head down and look at you with big, guilty eyes like a dog who peed on the carpet. I glance at the floor for a moment before returning my gaze to you. I'm so sorry but I scribbled my redesign of Charlie from That Hell Show with Xiomara

The tptm fungus had already taken over my brain by the time I started rewriting and redesigning these beasts so I associate some characters with each other. I think they would get along very very well and Xiomara would teach Charlie a lot of stuff and they would share stickers. Ummm disclaimer that I don't detest fans of the show but also I am critical of it. Clearly because I'm rewriting lol. But there's no ill will
