ok. i was avoiding posting this because i didn’t want to alienate people or make them choose sides, but it has come to my attention that @/visionheld is asking people to not follow her if they interact with me and that she’ll “go into details” as to why. her post has since been deleted, but i needed to address it anyway.

i don’t like the insinuation that we had some kind of altercation where i make her uncomfortable, because we never did; she befriended someone who hurt me, and then ghosted me. she makes me uncomfortable because of her heavy association to someone who has mistreated me from when i was 14 to 19 and they were already an adult when i met them at 14. this isn’t about her, but it’s about her proximity to someone who literally sends me into panic attacks. when i was mentioning softblocking people to make MY dash safe because being in this space with these people gives me great anxiety, it was her i was referring to, but i never namedropped her to avoid this exact scenario. i’m not going to air out my laundry onto the dash so you’re more than welcomed to ask me for context in private if you want, but i’ve been leaving everyone involved alone and i would appreciate if that could continue, because i’m just appalled that i even have to make this post.

this is NOT a callout. i’m not telling people to do anything. you don’t have to softblock or anything if you don’t want to, nor am i telling you to. this gave me instant anxiety and my hands are trembling and i needed to say it for my peace of mind. please leave her alone and leave me alone, and if you want to write with her so be it. i don’t care but leave me out of it. thanks

good morning, i lost my starter call 🗿 the stuff already in my drafts is safe and so are the bookstore ones since i was able to find that in my archive but anyways, like this for a thing (of varying length), esp if we have yet to interact. no cap for now.

i’m answering an ask right now + i’ve seen posts floating around about this so i wanted to make a post of my own: i do subscribe to the idea that zhongli and guizhong were lovers, and i have said as such before. however, i’ve moved on from this a little as far as implementing it on my blog goes, and wanted to explain what that entails and why i’ve decided to do so.

zhongli believes in fate. he believes that if he’s meant to be with someone, that it will happen; i believe he loved her very much, but it was never realized because he understood too late what his feelings were. after her death, and in an effort to preserve her memory and to carry on the unofficial vow they made together to see liyue prosper, he did his best to carry on her legacy, but he figured out that she was not meant to be his. they would have been together if that was to be true.

she had gifted him with the means of having a human heart. (she eroded his stone heart.) in giving up his gnosis, he wanted to move on from that past he was holding onto so frigidly and move openly into the arms of humankind, as she had, and to love fully knowing that he was equipped to do so then. all of that having been said, for my blog specifically, i believe his soulmate is going to be the person who comes around and loves him when all the dust settles; that is what she would’ve wanted for him, i think. since my blog’s flagship is childe/zhongli (very carefully crafted with zhazhdas because the fandom is super strange abt them and canon gave us enough wiggle room), this was basically a long post explaining that zhongli and childe are who i view as soulmates for this blog, and that is why it’s the main ship here. however, the same remains true for other ships, because they are contained within their own universes.

i have a friend picking up guizhong, and the dynamic and the what-ifs might be explored, but for the sake of continuity here, it just wasn’t meant to be.

OMG HELLO!! i’m going to answer this one for kyouka if you don’t mind, because i have a thing about zhongli being a father figure.. i’m currently just in the beginning of bsd s3 because i’m slow (the goal is to get thru the manga asap... eventually), but that being said, he’d absolutely love her and want to protect her at all costs. zhongli would probably not know how to ease her burden if i’m being honest, but that won’t stop him from trying, and from being real protective :( and i’m hoping his care and patience (and his learning in the process) will go a long way

OOOOH,,,, no this is nice i’m thinking about the possibilities... first of all, they’re lil angst machines i think, the both of them. with former archon mi kyong and former archon rex lapis having lived thru the atrocity that was the archon war... regardless of how that develops, i do see a strong bond; there’s a kinship there that isn’t available with nearly anyone else but venti (and the adepti ofc) and i’d love to see them be close and team up :pleading:

not to complain about the localization of genshin again, but in zhongli’s character demo we went from “gods and demons are rising in this world. though i have no intention of chasing the deer (chasing the deer = ‘fighting for the throne’), i know that the world is full of suffering. therefore, i am willing to cleanse and protect the world. this is liyue’s original contract.” in chinese to “this is an age of gods and monsters. i wish not for dominion, yet i cannot watch the common folk suffer. to cleanse the land and defend our safe harbor: that was the first contract in liyue.” in english

i’ve decided to rework my modern verse and have scrapped the funeral business altogether. i’m currently ironing out the kinks and i have to do a little more research on company structures in china, but based on what i’ve read so far allow me to explain what i’ve got:

zhongli’s parents were the owners of a mining company in china. his family, over generations, generated a lot of wealth and revenue, and he inherited their money as well as their assets upon their deaths. he is now the largest shareholder

he does not oversee its operations directly; he actually is only a member of the board, and most of the company’s day-to-day activities are managed by other people

he is an investor, and also donates to various charities; he will be seen in high class circles, and will partake in events involving those types of crowds

because he doesn’t work within the company, his day job is that of an archaeology professor. i was a little bit inspired by matthew mcconaughey and felt that this would make the most sense as far as explaining his experience with artifacts goes … AND as far as having money goes, since he is without the presence of the funeral parlor footing his bills

please note: i will be making him a little older. he will be 28, as opposed to my placing of him at 24 originally. my shipping rules will be different for this verse and i feel it is important to clarify: i require that your character is either another authority figure (another teacher, for example), or is 22 years old or above and i am not allowing romantic ones involving him and a student, because that’s just taking advantage of an unbalanced power dynamic and is unethical. no exceptions.
