i hate it when i cant even write a poem about something because its too obvious. like in the airbnb i was at i guess it used to be a kids room cause you could see the imprint of one little glow in the dark star that had been missed and painted over in landlord white. like that's a poem already what's the point
you get it. you get the themes. i dont have time to do it justice. just look at it its on the ceiling
problematic topic
i feel like everyone always talks about code switching in pwi schools but no one ever talks about coming from a black community into a pwi school and seeing most of the black ppl there brainwashed by white standards while also hating on authentic black people since they’re envious of how comfortable they are in their own skin. the amount of times i’ve been called racist jokes and another black person was there trying to appease another white person is insane, then somehow i’m too aggressive for them since they didn’t expect to get cursed out by me for the disrespect and expected me to feel worse in my skin. Somehow i’m probably on the board for top most liked ppl in my school and for some odd reason many of the other black students that are whitewashed dislike me. i even got into a disagreement with this girl since im darkskin and she’s brow skin and i referred to both of us as black since that’s our race. she decided to call me burnt and refer to her skin color as caramel chocolate (this girl literally looks like a bug and is disliked by many for her nasty attitude) and even my darkskin friend from my school distanced himself away from me and again started to appease more to white men who make racist jokes towards him. honestly this is a shame even tho i have some white friends and i am talking to a white boy currently i’ve never thought once to pretend and be something im not to fit white standards. i’m still very much nigerian and i still very much live in the trenches but that doesn’t mean im gonna hide for people that can’t relate to what i go through.
