The legendary hand in hair thing is what I live for.
@designedrecovery made me do this.
It’s an old nightmare. One from childhood. One that she’s had and had and had since the loss–no, abandonment of her mother. A nightmare based on real life. A true occurrence more than once. And just as terrifying.
In her home, either child, adult or teenager, it hardly matters her age. What matters is that she is alone. It is utterly quiet and she is alone. The thick, heavy, unnatural quiet of the power being out. A look out the window shows it to be true for the whole street.
And when she gets up to go look for a flashlight or candle. Anything to light her way, the noise starts. Car alarms shrieking, shrieking, shrieking. Unbearable noise. Loud enough to be right next to her instead of parked in the street. Her hands clamp over her ears and fear fills her. The instinct to run takes over, so she does. She has to find Stefan. Stefan will know what’s going on.
But she can’t find him. She goes looking in the kitchen. In the living room. There’s no sign of him. There’s no sign of anything. The shrieking is getting louder. No one is turning them off. What if there is no one? What if she’s all alone? What if she’s well and truly alone now and no one is coming to help her?
The cars are at her windows. Flashing their headlights and synchronized blaring of their alarms. She’s crying. She’s crying for Stefan. For someone. Anyone.
The tears are real. Her cries of his name, “ Stefan, Stefan…” urged out by the real fear she feels, but softer than her shouting in her dream. But the whimpers as she crumples in her mind and curls up in the bed are exactly the same.
He’s fast asleep when he hears her call his name. “Stefan, Stefan...” What starts out as a small whimper soon becomes an octave slightly louder. Stefan stirs immediately from his sleep as the full severity of the situation comes to his attention. Bonnie, crumpled up in a ball under the bed sheets, shaking and whimpering in her sleep. “Hey, hey,” his voice is an instant soothing assurance as he quickly turns so that he can see her better in the darkness.
“Bonnie.” He speaks her name with authority, willing her nightmares to relinquish their hold on his vulnerable girlfriend. Wrapping her under one arm, Stefan aligns his body against hers so that he is shielding her completely. Cocooned in his arms and protected from whatever monster that is terrorizing her subconscious and urging her to call for her protector.
With a sweep of his hand, he moved her hair away from her ear so that he could get his mouth right next to it. “Bonnie, I’m right here.” He hugged her close to his bare chest, rubbing a hand smoothly over her arm to rouse her without scaring her. He didn’t have magic to shock her awake. While he could enter her dream and take her mind somewhere soothing, that was only his plan if this didn’t work out. “I’m right here. You’re dreaming. Wake up, baby. It’s just a dream, I’m here, shhhh, come on, open your eyes...”

Paul & Candice Thank You Project

As some of you know I’m going to be heading to TVD Orlando in December, and now that Ian has cancelled the lineup has been changed to include Candice. Her and Paul will be doing a panel together and she will be signing autographs and I assume doing photo ops with fans. We only have less than three months to do this Sterofam!! We’re going to put together two matching scrapbooks for both Paul and Candice and I am going to personally deliver it to them both in Orlando.
