money freakout.
I literally have $3500+ in outstanding invoices. Someone pay me please.
But actually, the number of amazing things that are within an hour of us is insane. half of these are like 15 minutes away.
Vancouver is awesome.
This hike was the hardest so far - 300 meters / 985 feet elevation gain on a fairly technical and steep trail. So worth it.
Front end dev problems
Trying to figure the best approach to coding a cool new front-end effect can send you down a rabbit hole for the rest of the day, that only results in you feeling like you don’t even know what css is.
Asking to be paid is hard.
Not that it happens a lot, but when it does, I gotta give myself a pep talk and remind myself my time and work has a value.

Podcast Thought on Motivation
I’m super into podcasts right now, and am bingeing on Millenial, Not Safe, and Being Boss. I love the self-help style podcasts, or anything that motivates me to get my shit together. I don’t always agree with 100% of the things the hosts say, and usually it’s just like a “meh, i disagree” moment. However, one thing I heard today made me stop and think, and I realized I whole-heartedly disagreed with the speaker. She was talking about how when people say you can’t do something, put you down, or tell you that you will fail, you should put all your energy into doing it to prove them wrong. She suggested that proving people wrong is the sweetest comeback. I’ve never been one to support this idea. Personally, the source of my motivation and/or lack thereof to do something has always been internal. Whether or not I achieve something is completely driven by me. I’ve never understood why someone would let another person’s opinion drive their goals. If you are going to do something, do it because you want to. Do it because you believe in yourself. Fuck everyone else.Â
If someone says you can’t do it, who cares. Working towards your goal should be driven by and rooted in positivity. Motivation should come from you believing that you can accomplish something, not from someone else telling you that you can’t.

Being Self Employed is a Roller Coaster
You either wake up with 230984082304 things to do, or 0 things to do.Â
There is no in between.

has always been a diet on which I’ve felt the best and seen the best results. It’s just so damn hard to stick to if you have a hectic and unpredictable schedule.Â
This last year has been the craziest of my life. I quit my job, launched a freelance business, went back to school - which had me commuting 3+ hours a day, and ended with an unexpected cross country - 4000km - move that had me taking 4 trips in less than two months.
Eating no carbs wasn’t a possibility for me then, but maybe now it is. I’m trying to figure out it I can commit to this as a weight loss plan.
Well, it’s been awhile...
