WANTED FUGITIVE. REWARD: BETTER WORLD.

I took these two photographs at 9:30 am just before the sun got even more obscured by the smoke. I deliberately exposed the photos a little darker so that the sun wouldn’t get blown out.
Reading at the Toronto Photobook Library. At the Stephen Bulger Gallery.
At the 2010 edition of the Victoria College book sale a book caught my eye - the publisher's logo looked familiar, I realised it looked a lot like a logo for Ian Dury And The Blockheads. I contacted A. Blockhead who wrote back:
Thanks for sending this in to us.
F.Y.I.
The logo was created for Ian and the band by Barney Bubbles...
the story goes that Ian called Barney and asked for a logo for his new band 'The Blockheads' and Barney asked Ian if he had a pen handy and proceeded to describe a logo..... ''draw a square.....put a B in the top left hand corner.... an O in the right hand corner...etc''
and Ian, after completing the instructions just whistled, said thanks and put down the phone!
Rumour has it that it was inspired by some socialist or nazi iconography and Barney belonged to the same school of 'enfant terribles'
'pinkos' as Peter Blake and his ilke, so it is quite possible that Barney was sitting looking at this book when Ian called him.
Thanks again....this will go into our archives.
